This article leaves out mention of the Cydonia region in general, which has many more intersting oddities to it than the Face. The Face should be considered in its entire context, but right now the article only mentions that it's in an area of mesas.

Picture Relocation

I've reverted the original picture to the cropped, close up version of the face. I think it is much more illustrative of what people were so adament about when the pictures were originally released; the full version does not do it justice

I realize now that this was not the best course of action for the article (newbie to editing wikipedia), as for the "original caption" section it was correct to place the entire picture. However I still stand by what I say, so is there a way to post the original, cropped version as the main photo? This is, after all, the heart of the article. The newer pics should only come later, to merely update what the face actually is.

Except I can't edit the top portion. I'd recommend placing the zoomed, old face pic as the main pic, placing the newer zoomed face ideally right below it or in the interpretations section, and using the zoomed out version on the bottom one. Sadly, I can only do part of that. Does this sound logical?

proper place for conspiracies to run free

trying to get a conspiracy based wiki up and running. http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikiconspiracy. check it out, add input. most of all help me get it running (I'm kinda amature over here)

Skeptic of Skeptics

It could be an actual ancient...extremely ancient monument! Considering the slow expansion of the solar system, and that Mars was once the distance that Earth is now (the perfect distance from the Sun for life to exist) Our Ancestors made that monument millions of years ago. And since Mars still has an atmosphere e.g. wind and dust storms...the Monument is more corroded than the Sphinx. Possibilities are even more possible when they incorporate actuality. The face could be Real. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dre.velation2012 (talkcontribs) .

Or maybe it's not. Wikipedia is not a place for wild speculations. What we do know is that this rock formation isn't even remotely shaped like a face. Those facial features that sometimes seem to appear is an illusion created by light and shadows, as well as low-res images. /Magore 17:27, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
