Speedy Deletion

I think this page doesn't qualify for speedy deletion and needs to be discussed. Although on a show for a short time he did make a few newspaper articles and things. SenorKristobbal 21:54, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If this was an articles for deletion debate, my !vote would be for merge and redirect to Never Mind the Buzzcocks. He was literally 'famous for fifteen minutes'. Sam Blacketer 23:55, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He's certainly no Guy Goma. I suggest merging as well. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 00:09, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be merged and redirected. I'll have a look if there's a logical place in the Never Mind the Buzzcocks article for this piece. theroachmanTC 00:50, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, I just checked buzzcocks article, it mentions everything that is notable about Ed Seymour in the Trivia section. The extra information in this article is no real contribution to wikipedia, just some extra information gotten from the article. The article is linked as a reference in buzzcocks article, which should be enough. This page belongs in AfD, in my opinion. theroachmanTC 01:00, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'd agree with this all. This was far better than a speedy delete. SenorKristobbal 10:27, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be deleted. One test for me over whether something should be in an encyclopaedia is whether anybody is ever likely to search the encyclopaedia for it. In my opinion no-one would ever search for "Ed Seymour" unless it was another, more notable person of that name. If their intention was to read about this particular person or event they would likely go to the article on Never Mind The Buzzcocks. In other words, this person is not a notable public figure, but the incident that relates to him in this article was a notable event in the history of the TV programme, therefore any information about it should be there. 62.31.116.126 23:39, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirected

I've been BOLD and turned this into a redirect to Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Of course, it can be put up on Redirects for Deletion if people don't think it appropriate. Sam Blacketer 09:25, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I still think the page should have been merged first. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 16:11, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A fair point, although I looked at the two and couldn't see anything significant that wasn't there already. There was an unsourced statement about how he couldn't sign paperwork after the recording because of childcare difficulties which I didn't think worth including. Sam Blacketer 18:41, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're probably right to just redirect it then, so I'll leave it as it is. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 15:26, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the redirect to go to the specific section containing information about him, rather than the just the show page itself, just to make the information more readily available. Johno000 21:49, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
