I merged material from counter ion to this page per editor suggestions (here and [1]) and made a redirect page at counter-ion. --Kkmurray (talk) 02:56, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a commonly used term. This should explain that "counterion" means anion or cation, depending on charge Skepticalgiraffe (talk) 16:01, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it should say "chloride" instead of "chlorine".
