Donald Trump was not shot here

I contributed to this mistake, but updated information indicates that while part of the fairground is located in Connoquenessing Township just west of Meridian, the actual part of the fairground Trump was shot in is part of Meridian itself, which is also located outside of Connoquenessing and instead is located in Butler Township. @Raskuly: However, it's still associated with the township, based on the articles from the Reading Eagle. I am aware that technically, technically the event happened on the Butler Township side, but that newspaper talks about how the venue is connected with Connoquenessing Township.
  • Grubbs, Paula (July 13, 2024). "Meridian neighborhood awaits impact of Trump rally". Butler Eagle. Archived from the original on July 14, 2024. Retrieved July 14, 2024. [...] as most of the Farm Show Grounds is in Connoquenessing Township, which is covered by state police.

I found another justification: The PA State Police is Connoquenessing Township's local law enforcement agency, and so in a sense Connoquenessing Township was involved in providing security for the event. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:31, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That isn't really a good justification imo since the property intersects both townships so it would make sense for both to be involved. Raskuly (talk) 18:32, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that the property is mostly in Connoquenessing Township means though that the township's name appeared in the Butler Eagle articles, so the reader expects to see something about this in relation to Connoquenessing Township. It's important to cater to the reader's expectations, and because the township was involved (via the State Police), it had a role (even though the actual incident was on the Butler Twp side). I made sure to craft the paragraph to educate the reader about these aspects. WhisperToMe (talk) 15:47, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
