List of Bookmobiles?

I'm not entirely certain if this is the correct place to mention such a thing, but wikipedia was the first place I came to in my search for information. Is there any site on the net that provides a list of bookmobiles and similar services across the globe? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.106.254.128 (talk) 06:05, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Found this on a google search. Obviously not a very extensive list, but maybe someday it will be better. Clamshell (talk) 17:55, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Children's Mobile Research

Have you also looked at http://childrensmobilelibraries.blogspot.com ... someone else is setting out to do a Doctorate on children's bookmobiles Victuallers (talk) 21:24, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mobile library

Bookmobiles are just one type of mobile library. I think Mobile library deserves its own article, to accommodate other forms e.g. ship libraries, bike services[1], pop-up libraries, etc. -- M2545 (talk) 15:35, 11 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We need to be careful to clearly delineate between, on one hand, library collections that travel because they transport books between institutions located at fixed sites and on the other, mobile libraries that literally move from place to place, as you described. Of course, we need to also determine how to classify those that fall between the cracks, such as the Library Train for Homeless Children in Thailand, which is located on three cars of a train that is permanently parked. Agreed. This 1994 article has useful info. -- M2545 (talk) 15:26, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that its not productive to have two articles where 90% of the history will be relevant to both. Creating a mobile library/book mobile article would be a great improvement with redirects from all the similar terms. Victuallers (talk) 16:23, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
