Talk:Black Protestant
Appearance
Other meaning
In modern society, a Black Protestant is a Protestant Christian of African descent. However, in the past, the same words have also been used to indicate an anti-Catholic "black Protestant" who was a white American (or perhaps not of any particular race).
- "'black Protestant', a commonplace sectarian insult (meaning 'immoderate' or 'bigoted') among Irish Catholics into that period" [=mid-20th century in the US][1]
I leave this note here in case future editors are exploring this subject. At this point, I don't personally think that it's worth a separate article, or even a hatnote to Anti-Catholicism in the United States. WhatamIdoing (talk) 16:33, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
