I wonder if the article should be headed "Bible Quizzing" rather than "Bible Bowl."

Perhaps the article needs to be split due to the differences in style and origin of both types of quizzing. Although the article does not address it, Youth For Christ quizzing has been around since the 1940's and would appear to pre-date the Bible Bowl style of quizzing. YFC Bible Quizzing

Does anyone have any information about what type of quizzing is more prominent?

The title is "Bible Bowl" because it was originally about just the television show, which was a very narrow focus for a title which has a wider meaning. "Bible Quiz" redirects here.
As best as I can tell, the Assemblies of God and Nazarene Teen Bible Quiz ministries are about the same size, between 900 and 1,000 teams across the country. However, Assemblies of God also has a Junior Bible Quiz division which is much larger than Teen Quiz, somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 teams (and those teams have more quizzers, four at the table instead of three). So I am guessing that A/G quizzing is the overall leader in number of participants. I'm a bit biased in my view since I'm involved in A/G quizzing, but I've tried to research the matter as best as possible. However, hard and fast numbers for each of the various organizations is a bit hard to come by.Realkyhick 08:29, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move to "Bible Quiz"

I'm starting to see the merit of moving this article to "Bible Quiz," since most of the variations named refer to themselves as such. But I'm going to wait until May 10 or so to do so, in order to allow comment here. What do you think? Realkyhick 05:19, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would have to agree that Bible Quiz is a more appropriate title. Alangdon86 18:02, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
