I'm not sure why my question [1] on Namiba's talk page was reverted without a response. So I'm reposting my question here. @Namiba:, can you walk me thru how you came to the conclusion that Abdullah had "no claim of african heritage" [2]? I'm trying to understand because I interpret the sentence "He was also the first African-American male to win a rowing national championship in 1996, when he won the single sculls competition.[2]" along with the source to "count" as him being African-American. [1] Like, genuinely, I'm just trying to understand how you're coming to your conclusion. Mason (talk) 03:01, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Take the hint of me not answering on my talk page: I don't engage with editors posing snarky questions.--User:Namiba 03:04, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't snarky. I was genuinely asking because I wanted to understand how you interpret sourcing about ethnicity given the category discussions where you raise this issue. Mason (talk) 03:10, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I misread the article while editing.--User:Namiba 13:17, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wish you had just said that instead of calling me snarky and reverting my question. I tried to assume good faith when I asked the question, and I don't know how I could have asked my question in a less snarky way. Mason (talk) 00:24, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
