Well, lets use modern English - Google - Chernigov - 341 000 hits, Chernihiv 145 000. Since the main modern English usage is Chernigov lets use it through out all the time. After all we use Moscow not Moskva or Maskva, don't we? I do not feel it is right, but i can accept it.
