Possible Ancient connection

  • Okay, I'm well aware that the planet is not the Ancient homeworld. However, it's inhabitants had industrial technology and the ability to transfer their memories into androids around 11,000 B.C.E., which would predate the Goa'uld's presence on Earth. So, is it possible the Altairans were the descendants of Ancients themselves? -- 67.169.229.152 19:05, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually wondering this same thing; 11,000 years ago is a millenia prior to the Goa'uld even discovering humanity, there's no way they could have been transplanted to Altair through either Stargate (The original Earth Gate was still buried beneath the ice of the south pole, and the gate Ra brought wasn't here yet) or Goa'uld ship. There's always the possibility that another alien race (Asgard, Furlings, Nox, Salish Spirits, "Giant Aliens," etc.) transplanted them from Earth, but they never suggested that within the episode. In my opinion, it's quite possible that they were Ancient's (It's always possible that not all died out from the Plague, or maybe some came back from Pegasus before the final evacuation of Atlantis), since nothing else seems to fit. Of course, we can't put that into the article, but you're right, it's certainly a possibility. JBK405 19:17, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps the environmental disaster was the plague. Regardless, I think the name being similar is actually deliberate, to repair continuuity.
