  • I do not have the numbers on whether upsets have increased since then, but it is fairly common for there to be a couple wins by FCS teams, mainly against mediocre or bad FBS teams. There has been another upset of a ranked team (the James Madison Dukes beat #13 Virginia Tech in 2010); that game does not have an article, but it is the only other upset of a ranked FBS team.
