Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- Dignitary torts (currently a redirect to Dignitary tort) → Dignitary tort (move · discuss) – Per WP:SINGULAR. 142.160.89.97 (talk) 18:56, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
- Dignitary torts is correct. This is covered by Wikipedia:Naming conventions (plurals)#Exceptions (Articles on groups or classes of specific things). There is no such thing as a dignitary tort on it's own, singularly, (even though you wrote this into the article). Dignitary torts is a category of torts, of which the singular torts are battery, assault, and false imprisonment et al. For example the tort of battery, which is singular. The category of torts is intentionally plural. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 19:10, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
- How is it any different than, e.g., an intentional tort? 142.160.89.97 (talk) 19:48, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
- It is not very different. It would be unusual to refer to a Dignitary tort in the singular, but it is common to refer to an intentional tort in the singular. Because a tort within the category of intentional torts is a tort done with intent. Thus it is descriptive to use 'intentional tort' to describe it, legal sources use both 'intentional tort' and 'intentional torts'. But it is less common to use the singular 'Dignitary tort' as it is more descriptive to instead use the tort one is referring to. Legal sources use the plural far more commonly, although the singular is occasionally used, copying in the main from a 1988 paper which used it thus. Perhaps intentional tort should be moved to intentional torts. Certainly the plural is used by all major works I have checked. But it is not a pressing concern for it to be changed. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 20:47, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

- Patriot Candrabaga Stadium (currently a redirect to Patriot Stadium (Indonesia)) → Patriot Stadium (Indonesia) (move · discuss) – Rafasyah Orvala Sukoco (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) moved this page, the editor already blocked and always moved a page to full name (see log); restore this page to the name before this user's move. The name of page before Patriot Stadium (Indonesia) is Patriot Stadium, Bekasi (name of page when created and before the editor's move). Hddty. (talk) 20:46, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
