Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Contested technical requests
- Varsity team → Varsity (move · discuss) – This is the main page on the subject. The previous page called "Varsity" has been moved to Varsity (disambiguation) as it was a disambiguation page. Mn1548 (talk) 17:06, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- The disambiguation page was moved back. There is no policy against having disambiguation pages that don't include "(disambiguation)" in their titles. — BarrelProof (talk) 02:17, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: True, there is not, but generally speaking when "topic x" has an article about it that article is called "topic x" and the page that links to similar stuff is called "topic x (disambiguation)" - that's what's going on here. The current article "Varsity" is a disambiguation page, where as the article talking about the dictionary definition of varsity is titled "Varsity team", a titles which is only applicable to the North American English definition of the word, even though it talks about the British English definition in its first section (even before I starting editing the page), as well as information about Dutch and South African varsities, also based on the British English definition. Said page is also currently tagged with "not representing a world view", and having a North American English title doesn't help. The title "Varsity" is inclusive of both British and North American English definitions. Which is why I moved "Varsity" to "Varsity (disambiguation)" to free up the title to move "Varsity team" to "Varsity". Mn1548 (talk) 15:09, 30 June 2023 (UTC)

- F.C. Edinburgh (currently a redirect to Edinburgh City F.C.) → Edinburgh City F.C. (move · discuss) – Club has changed it's name (again) BBC. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 18:39, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Jmorrison230582, given there's been previous discussion on it's name, this isn't uncontroversial. Please open a full WP:RM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 19:22, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- F10 (incubator) (currently a redirect to Tenity) → Tenity (move · discuss) – F10 was rebranded on February 15 2023 to Tenity. Legal change of name done in Singapore and Spain Legal name change in process for Switzerland Me-and-so-on (talk) 13:43, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Me-and-so-on: We are not bound by official names. Current title is still the more WP:COMMONNAME. This is a WP:PCM. If you wish to continue with your request, click the discuss link in your request to begin a formal WP:RM discussion. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! - UtherSRG (talk) 14:24, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- Vienna International Airport → Vienna Airport (currently a redirect back to Vienna International Airport) (move · discuss) – The airport established a new corporate design / branding and dropped recently the phrase "International" from its public appearance. - Can't Say (Travis Scott song) (currently a redirect to Can't Say) → Can't Say (move · discuss) – This should be moved to this because the Travis Scott song article is the only article with the name Can't Say. The page named Can't Say right now is a disambiguation page and only lists one other song named Can't Say that does not need an article. Once this is moved, we can put a hatnote on it that points the reader to the album article where the other song is mentioned. This is an easy case. Please also make sure to edit it to the new name in the templates of the artists after you move the article. 70.113.0.198 (talk) 01:16, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Seems fine as a disambiguation link. Why is one of these songs more important than the other? –jacobolus (t) 02:58, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- This is a WP:PCM. If you wish to continue with your request, click the discuss link in your request to begin a formal WP:RM discussion. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! As you are an IP user and can't be pinged, this request will be removed in 1 day. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:05, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- This request is standard WP:SONGDAB procedure and really should not be controversial. I'll do the move unless there's a strong policy-based objection. Lennart97 (talk) 16:40, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Lennart97: thank you for listening to my thought. To answer the previous question that I was asked, the answer is that it is not about one of those songs being more important than the other, but one has an article while the other one does not. Also, when you simply look up "Can't Say" on Google, the main result and almost the only thing that comes up is the Travis Scott song. 70.113.0.198 (talk) 00:52, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- Leah Isadora Behn → Leah Behn (currently a redirect back to Leah Isadora Behn) (move · discuss) – WP:COMMONNAME 12u (talk) 11:47, 29 June 2023 (UTC) 12u (talk) 11:47, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- @12u: Actually, Ghits returns significantly more for the current title than the proposed one. This is a WP:PCM. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! - UtherSRG (talk) 12:12, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Jimmy Russell → Jimmy Russell (AFL) (move · discuss) – I plan to add a page for another Jimmy Russell (James C. Russell of Wild Turkey (bourbon)) either under Jimmy Russell or adding (Wild Turkey), (Bourbon), or (Master Distiller) afterward to provide more differentiation from the current Jimmy Russell page and the other current Jimmy Russell page: Jimmy Russell (rugby league).

- Face 2 Face (Juice Wrld song) → Face 2 Face (song) (currently a redirect back to Face 2 Face (Juice Wrld song)) (move · discuss) – This should be moved to this because this is the only song article with the name Face 2 Face. It was previously already moved to this through this move request system, but the move was wrongfully reverted for not using the system, which was not true. This is an easy case. Please also make sure to edit it to the new name in the templates of the artists after you move the article. 70.113.0.198 (talk) 00:52, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- @70.113.0.198:, do you have a link to the RM? I don't see it in either page's history, nor do I see any indication that an RM has occurred. EggRoll97 (talk) 01:02, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- The first move was done on request at this venue: Special:Diff/1129384803. This was then reverted in less than a month later, Special:Permalink/1131085516. – robertsky (talk) 01:10, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- The previous move was done correctly and further moves without further discussion is contentious. – robertsky (talk) 01:05, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
