Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Tito (currently a redirect to Josip Broz Tito) → Tito (disambiguation) (move · discuss) – WikiNav indicates that the primary flow of traffic is overwhelmingly (>95%) to the Yugoslavian leader. Redirect is better than DAB in this case. Sceptre (talk) 11:35, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Mohan G. Kshatriyan (currently a redirect to Mohan G.) → Mohan G. (move · discuss) – Starting from IMDB page and all the sources cited in the article, all are suggesting his name Mohan G. But the page was named as Mohan G. Kshatriyan. So the move is requested. Kirubar (talk) 07:05, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Kirubar, what's stopping you moving it yourself? -Kj cheetham (talk) 13:05, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Billions (Caroline Polachek song) (currently a redirect to Billions (song)) → Billions (song) (move · discuss) – The Russell Dickerson song is a redirect but the Caroline Polachek one has an article of its own. GiankM. M (talk) 21:48, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
- St. Clement's F.C. (currently a redirect to St Clement's F.C.) → St Clement's F.C. (move · discuss) – Consensus is to not include full stop at end of St in Scottish football team names. See Talk:St Mirren F.C.#Requested move 20 January 2016, Talk:St Johnstone F.C.#Requested move 20 January 2016 and Talk:St Cuthbert Wanderers F.C.#Requested move 20 January 2016. Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Lil Pump (mixtape) (currently a redirect to Lil Pump (album)) → Lil Pump (album) (move) – Some editor has move this page without discussion first. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 08:36, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Independent Children's Homes Association (currently a redirect to Children's Homes Association) → The Children's Homes Association (move · discuss) – Organisation's name was changed in 2022 so this title was inaccurate Lateraleditor (talk) 16:06, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
- Is this the how it's now referred to in independant sources as per WP:COMMONNAME? -Kj cheetham (talk)
- It is not, according to a simple Google search. - UtherSRG (talk) 18:12, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

- Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park (currently a redirect to Meridian Hill Park) → Meridian Hill Park (move · discuss) – WP:Commonname is by far Meridian Hill Park. It's the name used by the National Park Service, used by local news agencies, and even used by local travel magazines. The precedence is overwhelming. Cristiano Tomás (talk) 22:26, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- The article's been moved a couple of times, not uncontroversial. There is certainly a case to be made for Malcolm X Park, or the current dual title; this WaPo article is a good illustration of how both names can be seen as correct. 162 etc. (talk) 01:12, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
- This should be a full WP:RM discussion if wanting to progress it. -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:23, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
