Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Matt Williams (TV producer) (currently a redirect to Matt Williams (producer)) → Matt Williams (producer) (move · discuss) – Producer is enough disambiguation, ex Robert Singer (producer) or Kathleen Kennedy (producer) Spinixster (chat!) 08:06, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
- Brazzaville (American band) (currently a redirect to Brazzaville (band)) → Brazzaville (band) (move · discuss) – unambiguous 162 etc. (talk) 05:25, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
- Three Counties (disambiguation) (currently a redirect to Three Counties) → Three Counties (move · discuss) – Malplaced disambiguation page. Natg 19 (talk) 18:38, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Note that the previous primary topic was moved without discussion to Three Counties (Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire); whether that was a good idea is debatable. 162 etc. (talk) 20:02, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Cristidiscoidea → Nucleariid (currently a redirect instead to Nucleariida) (move · discuss) – The group of organisms known as "nucleariids" (singular "nucleariid") has received many formal names: first Rotosphaerida, then Nucleariidae/Nucleariida/Nucleariae, then Cristidiscoidea. However, they're all the same, and I believe giving priority to the informal name Nucleariid would relieve us from having to choose one formal taxon name over the other. (Also, I noticed that Nucleariida is also a separate page, and the information there will need to be transferred into Nucleariid just like what happened between Stramenopiles and Heterokont) ☽ Snoteleks ☾ 13:47, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- From both articles, it looks like Nucleariida is one of two orders in the class Cristidicoidea. Merging the two would mean that the other order does not exist. This doesn't seem right to me. - UtherSRG (talk) 15:49, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (currently a redirect to Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms) → Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (move · discuss) – Please make the title consistent with ICD-11 and 2023 ICD-10-CM: https://icd.who.int/browse11/l-m/en#/http://id.who.int/icd/entity/516577496 , https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/D50-D89/D70-D77/D72-/D72.12 Kamdenek (talk) 18:38, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park (currently a redirect to Meridian Hill Park) → Meridian Hill Park (move · discuss) – WP:Commonname is by far Meridian Hill Park. It's the name used by the National Park Service, used by local news agencies, and even used by local travel magazines. The precedence is overwhelming. Cristiano Tomás (talk) 22:26, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- The article's been moved a couple of times, not uncontroversial. There is certainly a case to be made for Malcolm X Park, or the current dual title; this WaPo article is a good illustration of how both names can be seen as correct. 162 etc. (talk) 01:12, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Punani (song) → Punani (move) – to revert recent undiscussed moves Station1 (talk) 17:00, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Clearly an ambiguous title, per earlier discussion today here at WP:RMT. WP:NOPRIMARY 162 etc. (talk) 17:06, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- @162 etc. and @Station1, I see two separate entries here for the same target article. Given the numerous moves done on all Punani articles in the last 24 hours, let's just open a discussion on this instead. – robertsky (talk) 17:06, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- No, this is a request to revert an undiscussed move. It needs to be done first and then a discussion can be started on the article's talk page, Discussion of the merits here is inappropriate. Station1 (talk) 17:12, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- The original move of Punani (song) to Punani was itself undiscussed [1], so I'm not buying that. 162 etc. (talk) 17:15, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- No, this is a request to revert an undiscussed move. It needs to be done first and then a discussion can be started on the article's talk page, Discussion of the merits here is inappropriate. Station1 (talk) 17:12, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Punani (disambiguation) (currently a redirect to Punani) → Punani (move · discuss) – unnecessary disambiguation; no primary topic 162 etc. (talk) 17:01, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
Administrator needed
- Disinformation in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine (currently a redirect to Disinformation in the Russian invasion of Ukraine) → Disinformation in the Russian invasion of Ukraine (move · discuss) – Per Talk:Russian invasion of Ukraine#Requested move 14 March 2023.
