Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- War in Donbas → War in Donbas (2014–2022) (currently a redirect back to War in Donbas) (move · discuss) – Per Talk:War in Donbas#Requested move 5 June 2022. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 20:38, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- Traditionalist theology (Islam) (currently a redirect to Atharism) → Athari (currently a redirect instead to Atharism) (move · discuss) – The three major theologies in Islam are known as Ash'ari, Maturidi, and Athari. No need to keep the third with the long title, but rename it with its popularly known name just like the other two. Korybiko (talk) 17:17, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- Korybiko Not objecting, but there was a discussion on the name in 2018, so this should go to a full RM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:43, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- Dragons' Den (British TV programme) → Dragons' Den (move · discuss) – Primary topic name refers to the British television series. Title should be italic. Onetwothreeip (talk) 09:56, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
- Given that the show has been syndicated all over the world, I'd need to see a bit more evidence as to why the British one should be primary over the others. SUre, it may be the original, but does it satisfy the criteria for WP:PTOPIC of being the page sought by readers and having the most long-term significance? — Amakuru (talk) 14:41, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
- agree, we have an article on the Dragons' Den franchise, and there are articles on Dragons' Den (Canadian TV program), etc. Dragons' Den should be the main article (as is right now). Sir Joseph (talk) 16:46, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
- Onetwothreeip, this needs a full RM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 22:00, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Amakuru, Sir Joseph, and Kj cheetham: It is reasonable to question whether the original version of the programme is the primary topic. While there have been many international versions, most of them have named other than "Dragons' Den". There are only three major versions with the name, the British version, English-language Canadian version and Irish version. Most other versions are named differently, often some variation of "Shark Tank". The name "Dragons' Den" overwhelmingly refers to the British version over anything else, and this can be demonstrated from the page views of the articles. The page views in the last 30 days for the British version is at 23,000, while at 5,000 for the Canadian version and less than 400 for the Irish version. I hope this is enough to demonstrate that the British version is the primary topic per WP:PTOPIC, especially being
much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term
, and that we can avoid a full move discussion for this. Onetwothreeip (talk) 07:38, 1 July 2022 (UTC)- Onetwothreeip I'm not disagreeing with the logic, but the fact we're talking about it here implies to me it's not just a simple uncontroversial technical request and so should go to full RM as per WP:PCM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:51, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- If nobody disagrees then it should be considered an uncontroversial technical request. I hope this is enough for Amakuru and Sir Joseph and that they agree. Onetwothreeip (talk) 07:55, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry but this is not going to be an uncontroversial move and should go to full discussion first. There is no harm in waiting a short while for a RM to conclude. Polyamorph (talk) 10:01, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- I concur with Polyamorph. -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:17, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

- Deputy of the Prime Minister of Israel → Deputy leaders of Israel (currently a redirect instead to Deputy of the Prime Minister of Israel) (move · discuss) – There's no such office title, that I'm aware of & the editor (@Panam2014:) who unilaterally moved it in 2021 & then reverted back to that move in 2022, appears to refuse to discuss the matter. GoodDay (talk) 13:54, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
- GoodDay Not disagreeing, but this doesn't sound uncontroversial so probably warrants a full RM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:54, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
