Edit request to complete RfD nomination

Moved from Template talk:Editnotices/You should notify any user that you discuss

Template:Editnotices/You should notify any user that you discuss has been listed at Redirects for discussion (nomination), but it was protected, so it could not be tagged. Please add:

{{subst:rfd|showontransclusion=1|content=

to the top of the page and }} to the bottom to complete the nomination. Thank you. NmWTfs85lXusaybq (talk) 16:44, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request to complete CSD nomination

Moved from Template talk:Editnotices/You should notify any user that you discuss

Template:Editnotices/You should notify any user that you discuss is a template redirect left over from moving an editnotice that was obviously created at the name of wrong form, but it was protected, so it could not be tagged. Please add:

{{db-error}}

to the top of the page to complete the nomination. Thank you. NmWTfs85lXusaybq (talk) 11:09, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for improvement: thread parameter

Please can we alter Template:You should notify any user that you discuss per this sandbox edit. This is so that the recipient (and other people reading the notice) can reach the relevant thread directly. See also Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents/Header#Suggestion for improvement: thread parameter and Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard/Header#Suggestion for improvement: thread parameter. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:13, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure this is such a good idea: considering how many editors have trouble leaving the required notification at all, I think we should avoid changes that make it more complicated, especially since the benefits here (making it slightly easier for people to find the thread that concerns them) seem fairly marginal. Please sync with Template:You should notify any user that you discuss/sandbox which uses semantic markup. Thanks! HouseBlaster (talk · he/him) 01:27, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

At the time of making this edit request, the top heading text looks like this:

When you start a discussion about an editor, you must notify them on their user talk page. You may use {{subst:AN-notice}}~~~~ to do so.

Please change it so that it looks like this instead:

When you start a discussion about an editor, you must notify them on their user talk page. You may use {{subst:AN-notice}}~~~~ to do so.

The reason for this is because combining 'bold' and 'strong' markup together creates an awful undesirable 'double-bold' font that is harder to read. MOS:BOLD does not recommend or otherwise state that double-bold fonts like this are allowed (and pretty much every Wikipedia article does not use double-bold fonts anywhere, especially FA ones). So the 'strong' markup should be removed, leaving just the underlining. — AP 499D25 (talk) 03:37, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@HouseBlaster: This is about your February edit request above, so you'd probably be interested in commenting. SilverLocust 💬 05:05, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
