  • (Discuss)RadissonRadisson (disambiguation) – After some fairly extensive research, I am certain that the hotel chain is the clear primary topic of this term. To begin with, there are about a million news hits, of which 99% are for the hotel chain. Outside of North America, the hotel chain is known, and the other topics are basically nonexistent. Topics relating to the hotel chain (i.e. its parent company and brands) account for over 90% of page views once partial title matches are put aside. I wavered between proposing to move the hotel chain here (as it is often referred to just as "Radisson"), or moving the disambiguation page to redirect the term there, but after consulting with others who have worked on that article, I agree that the hotel chain should stay at its current title, and that we should move the disambiguation page to direct the term to the clear primary topic, "Radison Hotels". • (Discuss)Northern red-breasted ploverNorthern New Zealand dotterel – This is in conjunction with my other proposal to change the article name of the species which these two subspecies fall under. I believe a name change is warranted under WP:COMMONNAME. In terms of the English name, Northern/southern red-breasted plover is not in common usage, whereas Northern/Southern New Zealand dotterel is used in various news articles[1][2] and scientific literature.[3] – including the paper that first described the northern subspecies.[4] To my knowledge, the IOC does not currently list any particular names for the two subspecies, in which case the common names would certainly take priority here.

  • (Discuss)Cassette tapeAudio cassette – The original name of the product is Compact Cassette, and would prefer it to be the title of the article, and all other names redirecting to it, but if this is not possible then let us at least rename it to "Audio cassette". The "Cassette tape" seriously irks me up, it is revolting. The "Audio cassette" name is common enough, recognizable, and it also was used by cassette manufacturers on the packaging, see the image above with three cassettes labelled as "Audiocassette", "Audio cassette" and "Audio Cassette". Everyone knows what audio cassette is, it is (was) a de-facto standard, so if people do not want to refer to a proper name given to the format by Philips, let us at least use a recognizable name that does not scream "illiterate". • (Discuss)Shooting of Ahmaud ArberyKilling of Ahmaud Arbery – I believe this article should be reconsidered for the title change. Please reconsider this based at least in part on the proposed flowchart to the right for article titles which makes perfect sense. It will be reasonable for consistency. When person a dies as a result of human action, regardless of intent or criminal responsibility, it is a killing. Google Dictionary (kill): verb: cause the death of (a person, animal, or other living thing) "her father was killed in a car crash"; noun: an act of killing, especially of one animal by another. Dictionary.com: to deprive of life in any manner; cause the death of. MacMillan Dictionary: to make a person or other living thing die. Collins Dictionary: to cause the death of (a person or animal). "More than 1,000 people have been killed by the armed forces; The earthquake killed 62 people; Heroin can kill". The medical examiner has ruled homicide. Also note: the title of the article, Killing of Rayshard Brooks. "Shooting" is not the best title word because many shootings are not fatal. It is better to be precise. If we want to be more descriptive, we could title it the "Shooting and Killing of Ahmaud Arbery", but this is too wordy; "Killing" is the best fit. We have to deal with reality: Ahmaud Arbery was killed by a gun. We must not downplay the seriousness of the matter by the mere title "Shooting".Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 08:43, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our timeLiberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times – This article was moved from its original title without a consensus. The original move was made on the basis that the ending with "time" is the common name used and that 時代 should be translated as "time", not "times". If you check the sources given, including the first used to cite the original article title, or look up the quote on Google, nearly every article uses "times". In fact, Wikipedia is now one of the only websites that uses "time" instead of "times". I would also argue that in this context, "times" is an appropriate translation of 時代. If you disagree with my claim of common name, you can look up the quote on any search engine and/or check the sources in this article yourself. CentreLeftRight 04:57, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Jack SwaggerJake Hager – I'm confident that this is his common name by now. For the past year, he has clearly established himself under his real name via his MMA career and especially AEW. Almost all of the recent headlines on him from the past 6 months refer to him as Jake Hager, and they rarely ever call him "Jack Swagger" in articles unless they're mentioning his time in WWE. • (Discuss)Mirror boxMirror therapy – Mirror therapy (currently a re-direct to "Mirror box") is widely used to treat a wide range of problems. The mirror box, invented by Ramachandran in 1992, was the original way to deliver mirror therapy, but it is no longer the only way to do it. The proposed new title has more general interest and application than the current one. HouseOfChange (talk) 12:37, 6 June 2020 (UTC) Relisting. buidhe 23:09, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)LaLAWikipedia:Disambiguation and abbreviations says For two-letter combinations, if there is no article, the page is usually placed at the uppercase version (BA), the lowercase (Ba) redirecting there.

At the moment, LA redirects to Los Angeles. I am a sometime Angeleno myself and love the city, but I do not think this is justifiable.

WP:PRIMARYTOPIC says A topic is primary for a term with respect to usage if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term. A topic is primary for a term with respect to long-term significance if it has substantially greater enduring notability and educational value than any other topic associated with that term.

I don't think the city can meet either prong of this test. I think a user entering "LA" into the search box is probably more likely to be looking for the city than for Louisiana, but probably not much more likely. And there are too many other meanings adding up to "all the other topics combined". If someone wants to make the case that the city has "substantially greater enduring notability" than the state of Louisiana, make the case, but I'm skeptical.

One more thing that will have to be dealt with: LA has a page history. I don't know whether there's anything there that really needs to be preserved, but that should be addressed. Still, it really shouldn't get in the way of having the disambig page at the right title. Trovatore (talk) 21:13, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Nicholas II of RussiaNicholas II – The "of [country]" descriptor seems to be peculiar to Wikipedia and is not used by any published reference work that I am aware of. See these examples. Our guidelines instruct us to use published works as titling models. "Other encyclopedias are among the sources that may be helpful in deciding what titles are in an encyclopedic register, as well as what names are most frequently used," according to WP:TITLE. Nicholas II currently redirects to Nicholas II of Russia, so there is no primary topic issue. "Of [country]" descriptors have been dropped off the titles of numerous royal biographies recently, as you can see here. Allan Rice (talk) 17:15, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Eleda StadionStadion (Malmö) – According to WP:FOOTBALL, unsponsored names should be used where possible. Sponsored names should only be used if the stadium has only ever been known by a sponsored name. This is not the case with Eleda Stadion, as it was known as "Stadion" between 2018 and 2019, when it lacked sponsorship deal. Furthermore, "Stadion" is the the most commonly used name in everyday speech. Mattias321 (talk) 14:39, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)KatahdinKatahdin (disambiguation) – Per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Evidence that Katahdin is the common name of the mountain: Google hits for "katahdin" -"mount katahdin" -"mt katahdin": 1,600,000 search, 17,500 news. Google hits for "mount katahdin" OR "mt katahdin": 390,000 search, 5,250 news. Hits for books and scholar are roughly equal; however, I suspect these are inflated by extracts from USGS naming lists. Google Books contains a tremendous amount of official government documents, as I've learned while working on other articles. Evidence that the mountain is the primary topic for the name Katahdin: Primary topic by usage: Pageviews - the mountain averages almost 4x as many pageviews as all the other articles linked from the dab page combined. Google searches by topic - the mountain averages more than 5x as many searches as the second-place item (the sheep), and more than 3x as many searches as all four other topics combined. Primary topic by long-term significance: the mountain is the original source of the name Katahdin; all other uses derive from that. The mountain is permanent; protected areas, sheep breeds, and ships bearing its name are not necessarily permanent. −−− Cactus Jack 🌵 03:37, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)DreamtimeThe Dreaming – General consensus within Aboriginal groups appears to suggest that "The Dreaming" is more of an appropriate term than the "dreamtime", as most Aboriginal communities do not align The Dreaming with any certain timeperiod. There's so little connection between The Dreaming and time that it has also been called the "everywhen". Prominent Australian Anthropologist W.E.H. Stanner has described that "One cannot 'fix' The Dreaming in time: it was, and is, everywhen” (Common Ground, Creative Spirits). Christine Nicholls, a Senior Lecturer at ANU with extensive experience in Aboriginal communities, explains how "The Dreaming embraces time past, present and future" and that The Dreaming wasn't a past time (i.e. "dawn of time" is incorrect) nor is timeless (Source). N.B. That Creative Spirits describes that the Aboriginal consensus is that The Dreaming has a capital T and D. • (Discuss)The Sun (United Kingdom)The Sun (UK and Ireland) – The Sun circulates in both the United Kingdom (The Scottish Sun and the edition titled just The Sun) and in Ireland (The Irish Sun). The article covers both the British and Irish circulations of the newspaper (as opposed to, say, only covering the England-Wales-NI edition titled just The Sun). Its title should reflect its scope. I cannot make this move as it has been locked so only admins can do so — I assume this is because The Sun is a contentious paper and the article has been moved to offensive titles in the past? Kilopylae (talk) 16:12, 6 June 2020 (UTC) Relisting. buidhe 01:04, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Glenworth ValleyPopran Creek – There is a very rich European history connected to the name Popran. Furthermore, there is also a substantial amount of indigenous history in this area and it is highly probable that the connection to this history will be made by those searching for it through the "Popran" name rather than through "Glenworth. The link with "Popran National Park" is a natural connection- although please note that the Park occupies the higher ground above the Popran. In the historical record there is virtually no record of the Glenworth name but a very large amount on Popran. The Kelly family connection is a fascinating record of early convict life and nearly always is linked with "Popran" rather than "Glenworth". In addition there is a proven connection between Henry Kendall through the poet Philip J Holdsworth- and the connection occurs through the use of Popran viz: Holdsworth has a poem "In the Valley of the Popran". Furthermore there is a horse riding /camping organization where the Kelly's lived in the upper reaches of Glenworth Valley/Popran and I would suggest that this commercial operation, however meritorious, should not take precedence over the rich natural and historical heritage of the designation Popran. In the printed media (as an example please note in The publication "The Ferry, The Branch and the Creek: Aspects of Hawkesbury History, Wisemans Ferry 1988" the designation Popran Creek is clearly the preferred local designation. I would strongly defend the foregrounding of the term "Popran" over "Glenworth" and the renaming as requested of "Glenworth Valley" to "Popran Creek" has considerable merit. Alternatively, if Popran Creek cannot be used as a stand-alone Wiki page, may I suggest that we replace the two "Glenworth Valley" sites with one, and subsume the Glenworth Valley (suburb page) into the Glenworth Valley (Valley page) Do not sign this. • (Discuss)Discrimination against non-binary gender peopleDiscrimination against non-binary people – I don't think the construction of "non-binary gender people" is used in common parlance; it's typically either "non-binary people" or, more rarely, "gender-nonbinary people", but almost never "non-binary gender people". "Non-binary people" thus pass the "naturalness"/"conciseness" test, as per -sche in the previous discussion. Incidentally, I can't see a consensus myself in the previous discussion (only one person in the above discussion actually argued on the substantive point on the use of "gender" in the title; the only other opposition was reheated transphobia), but its age means that seeking a reversal or overturning without a new move request will probably be a waste of time for everyone involved.. • (Discuss)List of legendary monarchs of KoreaList of fictitious kings in Korean genealogies – As seen in articles Gyuwon Sahwa and Hwandan Gogi, the Dangun kinglist presented here is a twentieth-century pseudohistorical fabrication. (The Dongguk Tonggam, a reliable primary source, only mentions three kings.) As fictitious characters in texts not even a hundred years old, they are hardly "legendary." It is my opinion that the entire Dan'gun king list fails WP:NOTABILITY, but if others disagree I'm fine with keeping the section and moving it to "List of monarchs in the Hwandan Gogi" or somesuch. The Gija Joseon king list and Mahan king list are copied from the (also fictitious) jokbo of the Cheongju Han descent group. The Cheongju Hans have laid claim to descent from Jizi since the early seventeenth century (first relevant document 1617, although as late as 1508 the Cheongju Hans did not believe themselves to be descended from Jizi, per Kang Min-sik 2013). The Haengju Gi and Taewon Seonu descent groups also claim descent from Jizi and these forty-nine fictitious kings up to "King Won of Mahan". The fact that the Gija Joseon king list is several hundred years old could justify its notability, but a list of kings mentioned only in the genealogy of three fairly minor descent groups is hardly a "list of legendary monarchs of Korea". The Bukbuyeo kings are from Gyuwon Sahwa or Hwandan Gogi and IMO should be deleted. I therefore propose that all sections except "List of Gija's heirs in Gojoseon" and "Mahan" be deleted for failing WP:NOTABILITY (or moved to their own article), and that the remaining section be moved to "List of fictitious kings in Korean genealogies" with an introductory section summarizing how these three descent groups came to have these fictitious genealogies. • (Discuss)Jewish exodus from Arab and Muslim countriesJewish_ethnic_cleansing_from_Arab_and_Muslim_countries – "EXODUS" is not an accurate term. Jews were not wandering in the desert after being called by God. These were refugees forced out of their own country through pogroms of anti-Jewish incitement and religious violence. We would never refer to the displacement of Christians across MENA as an "exodus". We would never refer to the violent expulsions of Muslims across Europe as an "exodus". This was a series of laws meant to discriminate against and displace Jews, concluding with violence which made them refugees. Words have meaning. Throwing all the Jews out of Arab Countries wasn't an "exodus". It was an ethnic cleansing. Letterman~enwiki (talk) 00:41, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Icon for HireIcon For Hire – The band capitalizes the "For" in their name, including on their official site's "About" page, Twitter, Spotify, and Patreon. MOS:MUSICCAPS offers the following as an exception to normal practice: if the artist has chosen to capitalize short conjunctions, prepositions, etc. then the article title may follow the artist's choice. —烏Γ (kaw)  08:46, 05 June 2020 (UTC)Relisting. Mdaniels5757 (talk) 18:33, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Zuby (rapper) → ? – This page does not meet notability guidelines, all information and sources relate to one controversial story, and one news report of an incident that does not relate to him as a person. I have done a good faith search and he has released music, but isn't notable for it (not reviewed in the press, or talked about in general) He does however have a large twitter following, but this isn't necessarily notable in itself unless he was noted for it in other secondary sources. For that reason I believe the title should be changed according to the notability guidelines to reflect the incident, not the person.- Benakt (talk) 18:09, 17 June 2020 (UTC) -->[reply]

  • (Discuss)Northwest Evaluation AssociationNWEA – Northwest Evaluation Association formally changed its name to NWEA and "no longer refers to [itself] as Northwest Evaluation Association" [36]. While it is appropriate to note the historical, geographic origin of its name in the article, the accurate name of the company is "NWEA." No other name is used in any part of its identification or official business. BigRodent (talk) 18:31, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Relisting. Mdaniels5757 (talk) 17:57, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)The Holocaust in the Independent State of CroatiaThe Holocaust in Croatia – At the time of writing, this is the only country-related Holocaust article on the English Wikipedia that contains a qualifier, in this case "the Independent State of..." Why the title of this particular article was singled out for this kind of treatment remains a mystery. For example, we have The Holocaust in Germany, not The Holocaust in Nazi Germany; The Holocaust in Italy, not The Holocaust in the Kingdom of Italy; The Holocaust in Serbia, not the Holocaust in the Territory of the Military Commander in Serbia, and so on. The Independent State of Croatia was the only entity called Croatia that took part in World War II, removing any room for confusion or doubt, and by extension, negating the purpose of the aforementioned qualifier. I do not agree with editors who argue that the NDH cannot otherwise be referred to simply as Croatia in some instances or that NDH citizens should not be referred to by the demonym Croatian. • (Discuss)Normandy landingsD-Day – Per WP:COMMONNAME. The number of Google search results, terms quoted, for "Normandy landings" (655,000) are vastly outnumbered by the results for "D-Day" (33,300,000), and seeing as that term's a bit vague "D-Day" "normandy" (9,780,000), and still even completely narrowing it down "D-Day" "France" "world war" "Normandy" (2,230,000). I think it is clear which name is the most common. Yes, there can be some ambiguity, but that's why we have {{For}}. sam1370 (talk / contribs) 06:50, 15 May 2020 (UTC) Relisting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:36, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
