- New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights seeks criminal investigation in Germany of U.S. Officials, notably Donald Rumsfeld and George Tenet, for war crimes at the Abu Ghraib prison
- The opposition Pan-Blue Coalition achieves majority in the legislative election in Taiwan, garnering at least 114 of the 225 seats. The governing Democratic Progressive Party and its Pan-Green Coalition win 101 seats.
- Austrian doctors announce that Ukrainian opposition presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko was poisoned with dioxin.
