Panguil Bay Bridge is a 3.77 km (2.34 mi) bridge currently under construction that crosses the Panguil Bay. It will connect Tangub in Misamis Occidental and Tubod in Lanao del Norte. When completed, it will become the longest water-spanning bridge in Mindanao.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge was held on November 27, 2018.[1] Construction officially began on February 28, 2020.[2]
The bridge is party funded under the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Agreement with South Korean firm Kyong-Ho Engineering and Architect Co. Ltd. involved in the construction. Expenses not covered by the loan will be funded by the Philippine national government.[3]
As of June 2022[update], the project is more than 50% complete, with partial operations expected by 2023.[4] Upon its completion, travel time between Tangub and Tubod will be cut from 2.5 hours to just a few minutes.[1]
The Contractor (Namkwang Engineering & Construction, Ltd) officially announced to the Bridge will be opened to traffic by August 15, 2024.
