Mister Butler is a 2000 Indian Malayalam-language comedy-drama film scripted and directed by Sasi Shanker. It is a remake of the 1996 Tamil film Gopala Gopala. The film stars Dileep and Ruchita Prasad. The music was composed by Vidyasagar. Though failed to find audience initially later became sleeper hit due to positive word of mouth.


Gopalakrishnan (Dileep) a chef by profession, has to leave the village because of his friend's wrongdoings. He heads to the city and becomes a chef at a hotel after having his talents recognized at a carnival. The women there become close to Gopalakrishnan and the men there nickname him "Krishna", their husbands get jealous of Gopalakrishnan. He goes to a channel office where he has to go to perform a cooking show. But the show gets cancelled and he gets trapped in the lift there with Radhika Menon (Ruchita Prasad). There he befriends Radhika and when she is hungry he cooks veg biriyani for her and his ways surprise her. the next day the power comes back and the leave to their respective houses and again meet and instantly they both fall in love. they marry with the support of his neighbours and Radhika's household. In the middle of their marriage Radhika learns that gopalakrishnan has already married once to a girl named mallika and she asked permission from gopalakrishnan to go with her lover as she was pregnant with that child .Although their marriage had finished she refuses to live with him and asks for a divorce. During that time Gopalakrishnan's friend (Innocent) arrives who is a cook in the army right now and acts as his father. He although is old has a love for girls and he creates many problems. Saddened by the events Gopalakrishnan tries to commit suicide by deliberately causing a road accident, but he reaches the hospital on time and his life is saved. Then Radhika asks for forgiveness and they reunite there.



The film's soundtrack contains six songs composed by Vidyasagar, with lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery. It was released on 19 July 2003 by Satyam Audios.[1]
