Lorenzo the Cat is a Maine Coon known for his work as a feline model, featured in various media outlets including the Miami Herald, New York Daily News, The Boston Globe, The Seattle Times, The Times of India, Yahoo! News, and several talk shows. His modeling has also been highlighted on the Today Show website and by the Associated Press.

Overview and history

Lorenzo was born on Halloween and adopted from a foster home at four weeks old by Joann Biondi.[1] Shortly after adoption, Lorenzo began making his first appearances on news channels and fashion shows. He gained attention in media and fashion circles after Biondi dressed him in a tank top, discovering his unexpected affinity for wearing clothes.[2]

In an interview with CNN, Biondi said, "As it turned out, this was not a very effective punishment because Lorenzo was not fazed by the shirt. Quite to the contrary, he loved it! And thus, his modeling career was born".

Lorenzo maintains social media profiles on platforms like MySpace and Facebook, and Twitter, where he interacts with followers.[3] His YouTube channel, last updated in 2010, has garnered significant views.[4] Lorenzo's attire often includes social, political, and humorous themes, tailored by Mr. Luigi of Tuscany for photo shoots.[5]

Career

According to Biondi, managing Lorenzo during photo shoots can be challenging due to his natural feline behaviors, such as chasing lizards or needing breaks.[6]
