Junaid Khan (born 2 June 1993) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films and stage productions.[1] Born to the actor Aamir Khan, he began his career on the stage. He made his film debut with the period drama Maharaj (2024), portraying journalist Karsandas Mulji.[2]

Early life and family

Khan was born on 2 June 1993 in Mumbai,[3] to the actor Aamir Khan and his first wife Reena Dutta.[4] He has a sister, Ira Khan,[5] and a half-brother Azad, from his father's second marriage to Kiran Rao.[6]

He completed his graduation from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. He then pursued an acting course at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.[7]

Career

He started his career with theatre and has been part of plays such as Mother Courage and Her Children (2020)[1], Medea (2022)[8], Strictly Unconventional (2022)[9][10] and Shikhandi (2024)[11][12], among others.[13][14]

Khan made his acting debut with YRF Entertainment's historical drama film Maharaj, portraying journalist Karsandas Mulji co-starring Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey.[15][16] Panning the film, Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in bemoaned that Khan "struggles to fit into a role for which the debutant actor is as yet unsuited".[17] Shilajit Mitra of The Hindu added that he "is sincere and sharp-featured as the striving Karsandas — though still miles away from emerging a captivating leading man: he is especially dull in the courtroom scenes."[18]
