Julie Greenwald is an American music industry executive. She is the chairperson and CEO of the Atlantic Records Group. [1]

Early life

Julie Greenwald was born in the Catskill Mountains in New York. She graduated from Tulane University in 1992 with a double major in political science and English.[2]

Career

Greenwald's contributions at Atlantic include helping to launch the careers of artists including Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Cardi B. She got her start as a music executive at Def Jam Recordings in 1992 and became president of The Island Def Jam Music Group in 2002.[3]

In 2004, she was named president of Atlantic Records and in 2006, was promoted to chairman and COO of Atlantic Records. She was named chairperson and CEO of the Atlantic Music Group in 2022. [4] [1] Greenwald announced she planned to step down from her position in January 2025.[5]

Awards

Personal life

Greenwald was married to former MTV 120 Minutes host and Island Records Vice President of A&R Lewis Largent up until his death in March 2023.[12]
