The John Paul II Park (Polish: Park im. Jana Pawła II) is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland, within the district of Ursynów, between Romera Street and Molodyjna Street. It was opened in 2000.

History

The park was designed by Dorota Sikora, and developed between 1999 and 2000. It was opened on 18 May 2000, in the 80th anniversary of the birth of its namesake, Pope John Paul II.[1][2]

In 2020, in the park was opened a graduation tower.[3]

Characteristics

The park is located in the neighbourhood of North Ursynów, within the disctict of Ursynów, between Romera Street and Molodyjna Street. It borders the Church of the Ascension. It has the total area of 4.3 ha.[2]

There are located two rocks with commemorative plaques, dedicated Pope John Paul II and the Polish exiles to Siberia.[4]

The park also includes a graduation tower.[4]
