Description

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1966 on the Northern Grid Survey 35 aboard the USS Granville S. Hall. Materials include: fix data, bird observation sheets (At Sea Daily Log E), and ship weather observation sheets. Fix data sheets include date, time and position data, distance data, time of fix, type of fix, longitude, and latitude. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Ship weather observation sheets include: vessel, location, date, time, winds, visibility, barometer, temperature, clouds, sea water temp., sea waves, and swell waves. Also includes photocopied preliminary report
