A.R. Rahman is one of the most prolific music makers in India who has put Indian film music firmly on the world stage. His musical career spans two decades, over 120 film scores worldwide, collaborations with Mani Ratnam, Shekhar Kapur, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson & Friends, Vanessa May, Danny Boyle to name a few and numerous awards like the National Films Award, Oscars, Grammys, Golden Globe etc. He figures on the Time Magazine's list of most influential people in the world. This authoritative documentary explores how Rahman's musical genius was influenced by various turning points in his life, how his musical style evolved over the years and the milestones and iconic status he has achieved in his illustrious career.

The most awaited documentary on this channel, it was screened at the White House in May, 2015 and subsequently had its television debut on Discovery Channel in October, 2015. Produced under the Public Diplomacy Initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, the film has been made in collaboration with PSBT. It is directed by Umesh Aggarwal whose own career in film-making spans two decades and has won him many accolades including the National Award.
