Thisthesispresentsthedesign,implementationandevaluationofacommunicationsystem, capable of serializing 14-channel digital parallel data, transmission and reception ofthe serial data over a high speed fiber link at 39 Mbps and converting the serial data back to its 14-channel parallel form. A time division multiplexing technique was used to transmit the data. The high-speed emitter-coupled logic devices were employed to construct the design.
