Sarah M. Davenport is an American lawyer who has served as an assistant United States attorney for the District of New Mexico since 2009. She is a nominee to serve as a United States district judge of the same court.
Education
Davenport received a Bachelor of Music from New Mexico State University in 1998 and a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2006.[1]
Career
From 2006 to 2008, she was a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico and from 2008 to 2009, she was as a special assistant United States attorney in Las Cruces. Since 2009, she has served as an assistant United States attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Mexico.[1]
Nomination to district court
On August 28, 2024, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Davenport to serve as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico.[1] President Biden nominated Davenport to the seat being vacated by Judge William P. Johnson, who will assume senior status upon confirmation of a successor.[2]
