Kenosha Mall is a mall in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It currently has 6 anchors, which are Meijer, Hobby Lobby, The RoomPlace, Primark, Kenosha Ice Rink Arena & Swimming Pool, and Marcus Theatres. The mall has an L-shaped layout
History
The mall was developed by Taubman Centers when it opened in 1991. It had Sears, JCPenney, H. C. Prange, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Sears Outlet. H. C. Prange got converted to Younkers in 1992. Sears closed down it’s catalog business in 1993, and the former Sears Outlet space became a JCPenney Outlet Store in 1996. Taubman Centers sold the mall to the Mills Corporation in 1997. The Mills Corporation sold the mall to Rouse Properties in 2004. Rouse then sold the mall to GGP in 2006. In 2007, JCPenney relocated to a nearby mall, replacing a former Carson Pirie Scott in that mall, and that same year, the Younkers got converted to a Boston Store. The former JCPenney space briefly became a Steve & Barry's, and then a Sports Authority in 2009. The JCPenney Outlet Store closed in 2010, which has been replaced by the ice rink arena and the swimming pool in 2014. GGP sold the mall to Namdar Realty Group in 2015. Sports Authority closed in 2016, Sears closed in 2017, and Boston Store closed in 2018, causing a decline. Marcus Theatres built and opened back in 2017. In 2019, Hobby Lobby replaced the former Sports Authority space. In 2021, Bed Bath & Beyond shut down. In 2022, Namdar sold the mall to Brookfield Properties. In 2023, Meijer replaced Sears, The RoomPlace, a furniture store, replaced Boston Store, and Primark replaced Bed Bath & Beyond
