Georgios Spyridakis (Greek: Γεώργιος Σπυριδάκης) (1906-1975) was a Greek folklorist and university professor.

Career

From 1944 to 1957 he worked as a writer for the Folkloric Archive of the Academy of Athens, and in 1957 he was elected the director, retiring in 1969. In 1952 he was elected a lecturer of Public, Privated life and Culture of the Byzantines in the Faculty of Letters in the University of Athens. In 1964 he was elected a proffessor in the extraordinary chair of Folklore in the Faculty of Letters until 1972[1]
