Falken Industries is an American company specializing in physical security and disaster recovery services. It was founded in 2003 by Robert Ord with an initial investment of less than $600. Over the past two decades, the company has grown to operate in multiple states across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, with eight offices in total.
Achievements and Recognitions
In 2016, Falken Industries was recognized as the top workplace in the Washington DC metro area by the Washington Post.[1] In the same year, the company was noted for its efforts in employing transitioning military service members.[2]
Contracts and Expansion
In 2018, Falken Industries was awarded an open-ended US Government security and law enforcement contract by the General Services Administration (GSA).[3] In 2017, the company created a division, Falken USVI, to focus on recovery efforts in the US Virgin Islands following the destruction caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria. Falken USVI was awarded several contracts by FEMA and the US Department of Homeland Security, including Contract 70FBR218C00000016.[4][5]
In 2024, Falken Industries became a presenter and sponsor of the Northern Virginia Technology Council's awards on Data Center leadership. Falken has been a key provider of Data Center physical security to several large data center agencies and providers since 2020.[6][7]
Challenges and Legal Issues
In 2020, Falken USVI reported issues regarding payments for recovery efforts. The company stated that millions of dollars were still owed by a subcontractor, AECOM, to numerous vendors, and arbitration is ongoing to resolve these financial disputes.[8][9]
Recent Developments
In 2023, Falken USVI was awarded a contract by the US National Park Services for recovery and protection efforts at Caneel Bay in St. John, USVI. This award followed a federal judge's decision to return the Caneel Bay resort to the US Government's park service after years of litigation.[10][11][10]
