Bahishkarana is an Indian Telugu-language crime drama streaming television series directed by Mukesh Prajapathi and produced by Prashanti Malisetti. The series features Anjali, Ravindra Vijay, Sritej, Ananya Nagalla, Shanmukh, Mehboob Basha and Chaitanya Sagiraju.[1][2] It premiered on ZEE5 on 19 July 2024.[3][4][5]
Synopsis
Bahishkarana delves into the life of a woman trapped in a world not of her choosing. Forced to navigate a harsh reality, she embarks on a daring path to carve her own destiny. This gripping story explores themes of societal prejudice, inner strength, and the fight for a life beyond circumstance.

Production
The series was announced as a part of ZEE5s future slate of content in June 2022.[8][9] Right after that, a teaser poster was revealed as to mark the birthday of Anjali's birthday celebrations.[10]
Marketing
The show's promotions started exactly two years after the first look was released, on Anjali's birthday on June 16, 2024.[11] The trailer of the show was unveiled by matinee legend Nagarjuna.[12]
Release
The series was released on July 19, 2024.
Reception
Bahishkarana largely drew positive reviews. The Hindustan Times rated it 3 out of 5 in its review[13]. IndiaGlitz rated it 3 as well, commenting, " The series' compelling premise and exploration of social issues are commendable."[14] The show drew similar ratings from NTV[15]. OTT Play commended Anjali's performance in the show and stated, "Anjali leads from the front and plays a bold role for the first time in her career. She, as Puspa, holds our attention."[16]
