You're back!

I have another question for you. But first: hi! *hugs* *big grin*

How do you archive a page?--Song 19:10, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
O my goodness, I love archiving! Awesome question. So there are basically two options: you can use a bot, like I have on my talk page, or you can archive by hand. It seems like the latter option is preferred on article talk pages. How you use a bot differs bot to bot, so go to their pages to find out how to use them. Werdnabot, the one I use, has instructions here.
To archive article talk pages, you can use a subpage method or a permanent link method. I use the former, but you can find all about both at WP:ARCHIVE. Basically a subpage looks like this (a subpage of this subpage) SUBPAGE or just /SUBPAGE. So you create a subpage called, say "archive one" by putting that code in on the talk page. That will create a redlink, so you click on that and copy the material you want to archive to create the page. I hope that makes at least a little sense. I think WP:ARCHIVE is confusing, but it might be helpful. --Gimme danger 21:55, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I think I understand what you're saying. I'm supposed to be archiving this page, as per Trusilver's request. So, let me get this straight. I type Archive 1 at the top of the page. Then I open the red link in a new window, copy what I want to archive, and paste it into the new page, yes? Is that somewhat close to what you said?
What is the difference between the subpage method and the permanent link method, and how do you find bots?--Song 19:06, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's correct. As to your questions, I can't seem to find an efficient way to find bots. I found my archival bot on someone else's talk page. You can check here for bots if you have the patience to go through all of them. You can also see bot edits on your watchlist and page histories, which is a good way to find bot-type tools (spellchecking, etc.).
The permanent link method of archiving is rarely used. It's basically a link to an old version of the talk page. I've never seen it used and it has some rather serious drawbacks (described at WP:ARCHIVE), so I'd recommend just going ahead with the subpage method. The permanant link method dosen't make a lot of sense, so I'll use the subpage method. Thank you so much.--Song 00:23, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article 2006 Cuban transfer of presidential duties you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 2 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Pursey Talk | Contribs 03:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know. --Gimme danger 03:36, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there. I've partially completed this review, but just had a long 12 hour day. So, your review should be up a few hours after I have a snooze tonight. I'd say around 12 hours from now. Cheers, thanks for patience. Pursey Talk | Contribs 08:17, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
