New page reviewer

User:DMySon

I want to be a Wikipedia new page reviewer. I am also a Pending Changes reviewer. My edits on English Wikipedia is more than 3600. I am familiar with the Wikipedia's guidelines general notability guidelines, dealing with advertisement, editing policy, core content policies and other related policies. Thanks for coming back DMySon. Is there work you've done since December that you can use to show us your familiarity with GNG, Advert, and others? Happy for a general area or specifics. I do my own looking for these areas when I respond to these requests but since you specifically mentioned them I thought I would ask. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 15:45, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to respond DMySon and collecting that work. As I mentioned when you were here last, the minimums are just that minimums. Most people granted this particular permission have a lot more experience. I will say in looking through your work, both what you referenced here and what I found, your speedy deletion work seems strong. Good work on that front and thank you. You might want to enable your CSD log in Twinkle by going here. I note your work with pending changes reviewer. I do have, however, a few concerns in looking at your talk page. I see that you reverted an IP's edit as spam. It was not spam and while the edit might or might not have belonged, it also was not vandalism, violations of the policy on living people, copyright violations, or other obviously inappropriate content which is what qualifies for rejection under pending changes - it is OK to accept an imperfect edit and then change it as you would any other edit. I also saw that you had recently added an uncited award to a page. Neither of these are big deals. They just reflect your level of experience. You are a good Wikipedian and I have no doubt your skill as a Wikipedian will grow over time. At some point I have no doubt you will make an excellent New Page Reviewer. That time still isn't yet. Give it at least 2 or 3 more months. Keep getting experience. After a few more months maybe enroll in someone's New Page Patroll School. I'm sorry that I have to mark this as  Not done for now. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 04:04, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank You for your time and review my request. Will try to improve my edits.DMySon 05:14, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The reason I am requesting this prestigious role is actually quite simple. I live, study and work in Malta, it's a very small island nation thus most of the Wikipedia articles that involve Malta are stubs and there are even more topics regarding the island which Wikipedia that are drafts. Thus I would like to review these and either publish them (if they met all the requirements) or deny them (if they don't). I have made 126 main-space edits and 264 total edits. I created 9 pages (one was deleted) and I believe that this role fits me perfectly. I also read the tutorial regarding new page reviewing. Thanks, once again.  Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. With only 128 mainspace edits, you don't meet the minimum requirements for granting. Please come back when you have the experience required for administrators to review your edits. — JJMC89(T·C) 22:53, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:MarkH21

I was temporarily granted new page reviewer rights on 10 January 2020 for six weeks (expired 21 February 2020). I came across some interesting articles in that timeframe and enjoyed participating at NPP. Here are my CSD logs, PROD logs, and Draftify logs (once I found the MoveToDraft script and had pagemover rights, which cut down the R2s) since I began NPP.
None of my reviewed articles were unreviewed (with a few later being G5ed on account of the common creator being found to have been a blocked user, and one later moved to draft), all but two of my PRODs were enacted (one of which was contested by the article creators but later converted to a redirect after coming to an agreement on the talk page and the other being merged somewhere else by another editor) and all but one of my CSDs were enacted (the G6 on a misspelled draft).
Hopefully I have demonstrated my ability to apply the various aspects of new page patrolling, with care to check for copyvios, COIs, sourcing issues, and notability/deletion criteria. — MarkH21talk 14:00, 29 February 2020 (UTC) — MarkH21talk 14:00, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done for six more months and apologies for not making it permanent. A lot of your reviews were of redirects so there wasn't quite the sample I normally am looking for (harder to tell from patrols of redirects than articles). However, other than missing one uncategorized tag I didn't see anything wrong with the articles that were there. Barkeep49 (talk) 18:32, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I received a ping on my talk page so I'd like to help. I've been around almost 15 years so I'd like to think I check all the requirement boxes. –Fredddie 20:25, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done for six months; if you find this appeals to you feel free to apply to make it permanent even if before that date. Thanks for considering NPP. Please make sure, if you haven't already, to read WP:NPP. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 02:39, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:JalenFolf

I have been recommended to this user-right by multiple users in the past 3 months. I have read the guidelines and feel I am ready for the responsibility of the NPP tools. Jalen Folf (talk) 20:37, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done for four months. Hopefully you find this rewarding and will come back to make it permanent. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 21:24, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Vexations

I first requested the right on 16 November 2016, and I gave up the reviewer right on 2 November 2018, hoping to do other things. I was a fairly active reviewer at the time, and have done over 4000 reviews. I think I can help. Vexations (talk) 21:39, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. Welcome back. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 22:47, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to apply for user right to review pages and help deal with new articles with issues and control its quality through curation. I have prior experience in AfC and AfD and I think I am competent in handling such issues. WikiAviator (talk) 03:21, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@WikiAviator:, Rosguill declined your last request less than a month ago. I see you've participated in some more AfDs - though only one of those was a nom and for that you stepped into the deep waters of WP:NFOOTY unsuccessfully. I don't want to reject you a second time quickly but I'm not seeing a whole bunch that suggests the timing is right at the moment for you to reapply. You might want to consider withdrawing this request and take the advice you were offered by Rosguill last time. Barkeep49 (talk) 03:41, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Barkeep49: Actually I've also participated in AfC, and I stopped focusing on AfD due to the AfC probation period and so far my reviewing was uncontested. Would this be sufficient or shall I withdraw for now, wait till the end of the probation, try make some more successful AfD nominations and come back? Thanks. WikiAviator (talk) 04:16, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No that's helpful WikiAviator. It's why I asked. AfC and NPP have slightly different norms. For some articles the norm at AfC is to decline them while at NPP the norm would be to tag them for improvement but mark them reviewed. Can you identify a review or two of yours from AfC that you would have taken this "mark reviewed with improvement tags" approach if you came across this while doing NPP? Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 04:26, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Barkeep49:These are some AfCs that don't meet AfC criteria but I think they meet the NPP threshold for being marked as reviewed but needs to be flagged for improvement. See if you think that I can demonstrate the ability to differentiate these articles. [3][4] I could find more if you want. WikiAviator (talk) 07:43, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Those were along the lines of what I was talking about though I'd need to look at Mitchell more to know for sure. One clear one I'd found when looking through your AfC reviews was Draft:The Donnison School. But since you get the difference let's go ahead and do a trial run which I'll grant in my next edit (so I can use the script). Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 17:32, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done for six weeks. Please try and do 20-30 article reviews in that time if you would like this made permanent. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 17:33, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Please continue to gain experience and come back in the future. I would also recommend having experience around deletion (e.g. AfD/CSD experience) when you return. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 16:31, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

For the past months I have held temmporary NPR permissions (now expired), and whilst life has meant I have not been the most active, I believe the work I have done (including publishing an article during that time) is enough to allow me either permanent or extended permissions. User:North8000

I received your request for help which was placed on my talk page and am willing to help. I've done 49,000 diverse manual edits, the first one being in 2009. I'm active on policy and guideline pages and know them and helped write some of them. I've been a pending changes reviewer since its inception. Also a rollbacker. A pair of us took SS Edmund Fitzgerald through GA, FA and to Wikipedia article of the day. On and off I've been active at AFD, maybe 2 years total commenting on I'd guess about 100-200 AFD's. On and off I've been a Good Article Reviewer.....maybe for 3-4 years total. I'm guessing that I've done 75 or 100 Good Article reviews.

Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 17:11, 2 March 2020 (UTC) North8000 (talk) 17:11, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
