Rollback

Currently I revert vandalism when I see it on my watchlist but I want to be more active in vandalism patrol by using Huggle which requires this permission Dartslilly (talk) 23:22, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Note that I have taken into account that you have successfully resolved the edit-warring episode at Black Sabbath six days ago, but even a single instance of edit-warring again, and certainly if you use rollback to edit0war, may result in the removal of the flag.--Ymblanter (talk) 12:20, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have been an editor for almost 4 years now. I revert vandalism whenever I see it (I reverted two edits on Cats (2019 film) just today) and think it would be very beneficial to have rollback rights. :-) – zmbro (talk) 03:00, 5 January 2020 (UTC) – zmbro (talk) 03:00, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’m an extended confirmed user and pending changes reviewer, actively working to fight vandalism. I feel well acquainted with our policies; looking forward, I would love to be more efficient with the tools available to rollbackers, such as Huggle. ~ Chip🐺 06:10, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. I see that you had two very recent incidents related to reverts. You reacted properly, but I think it would be good if we wait with assigning the flag. Please continue good work and reapply in thre months.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:38, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. So far i have done over 10,500 edits so far in almost four years and 94 articles created. I participate on wiki pages on a daily basis and i am mostly interested in sports/handball related articles. I want to be more helpful on Wikipedia as much as I can, to prevent vandalism and inappropriate behavior. I am aware of Wikipedia's guidelines/policies. I think that i can be more helpful if I can get this permission. Thank you in advance. Dellux mkd (talk) 22:45, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The ability to rollback would be a useful tool for my cleaning-up activities on Wikipedia. Kj cheetham (talk) 21:02, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would like rollback, as it would enable me to use more automated tools for reverting vandalism. It would make reverting and identifying vandalism much easier for me. Celestinesucess (talk) 08:34, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Celestinesucess You don’t necessarily need rollbacker rights to fight vandalism besides Twinkle & Lupin’s anti vandal tool work without having this right. Are you familiar with HAT COLLECTING? I see you requesting for rights without any real congent reason for requesting them that rapidly.Celestina007 (talk) 13:26, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Celestina007 countless times I have had anonymous editors editing some articles I have written and making the articles sound promotional, in such cases, I mostly contact some administrators I know to revert the changes and hence the reason I thought having the rollback right will help me. And the second right I requested for is event coordinator right. I requested for this right too because, during our edit-a-thons we are unable to create multiple accounts and hence we have to contact an administrator and sometimes, he or she is not available at the moment and hence we get frustrated.I thought these are genuine reasons to request for the rights but if you think otherwise, then that is fineCelestinesucess (talk) 15:03, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Celestinesucess I just made an observation an administrator would determine if or not those are genuine reasons. They do however sound plausible.Celestina007 (talk) 16:06, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Rollback is only really useful for users with a history of concerted antivandalism work, while your works is focused on improving content directly (sourcing and categorizing and the such) so this doesn't seem like it'd be useful to you. You don't need a sysop to revert vandals though! If you're interested in starting to do antivandal work, and it seems you are, you can check out WP:CVU and I'd suggest Twinkle, it's basically rollback and then some, including warning users. ~ Amory (utc) 20:56, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've used this function a lot over the years as an Admin and regular editor on Swedish Wikipedia. Was missing it now when trying to combat vandalism on the Silenus article. Thanks, /Urbourbo (talk) 13:36, 7 January 2020 (UTC) Urbourbo (talk) 13:36, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Since joining in November 2019, I've made over 545 mainspace edits, and most of my edits have been reverting vandalism. I was given access to rollback in December, but only for 3 weeks, and it has expired. I'm looking to extend my rollback rights indefinitely. Rollback would allow me to revert vandalism quicker and more efficiently using tools like Huggle and STiki. Thank you for your consideration. TK421bsod (talk) 00:42, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I primarily work in creation and do not intend to go looking for vandalism to revert, with any amount of regularity (I doubt I've clicked RecentChanges more than a dozen times in all my time here). But as my watchlist grows, I'm starting to come across enough vandal and sock edits to miss Rollback at least a few times a week. If there's enough in my history to rule out potential for misuse and assuming there are no major downsides in potential under-use, I would appreciate the convenience it famously offers. Thank You for your consideration, and A Happy New Year! -- Usedtobecool ☎️ 21:28, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Rollback is only really useful for users interested in concerted antivandalism work, as it should mainly be used for blatant cases of clear-cut vandalism. I don't really see any such edits, you seem mostly focused on content (which is good!) so I don't think this'd be useful to you. ~ Amory (utc) 20:50, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have been contributing for 2 months and reverted about 150-200 vandalism edits, some using Twinkle. I realized that it would be more convenient to use TW together with other tools such as this rollback or even Huggle. I don't always counter vandalism when I'm online (as I have many other tasks) but this tool will definitely help me a lot in counter-vandalism. tLoM (The Lord of Math) (Message; contribs) 01:00, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I don't have any strong reason to request permission, just that it's sometimes hard to manually undo multiple edits and having to go through changes. I have been actively involved in fighting against vandalism in the past. Having roll back feature will make it much easier to patrol pages on my watchlist. Thank you in advance.  Avalerion  V  (let's talk?) 19:04, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done Remember that rollback should typically be reserved for cases of clear-cut vandalism, and to warn users when appropriate. ~ Amory (utc) 20:48, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to get this right as I have contributing to Wikipedia for over two years. I have done reasonably well at NPR and pending changes reviewing. I am also keen on reverting vandalism and more importantly after becoming a pending changes reviewer I had dealt with vandalism issues. So I have requested this. I always fight against vandalism. I mainly focus on Indian football related articles. Few minutes ago, I reverted incorrect and vandalism from an article.  :) S A H 12:52, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
