Thegooduser - You didn't link this .js file to any other of your main .js files that the system uses when loading pages. The way you have it now just makes it an unused script that's just sitting there... It won't work unless you link it. I modified your common.js file for you to fix the problem - you can see what I did here. I hope that makes sense, and I hope this fixes your problem. Hi Rehanxidrisix! I believe that your message is in relation to the notices I left on your user talk page regarding the addition of content without citing reliable sources. Please make sure that you search and locate reliable sources to verify the content you're adding is true and correct, and then cite those sources in-line with the content you're adding. The links I provided for you here will provide you with more information and examples of how to do these things easily. Please let me know if you run into any questions after reviewing the guidelines I provided to you and I'll be happy to answer them. Happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:27, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Amaury! Welcome back :-)! Sorry for the delay responding to your message here - I was away taking care of a few real-life things ;-). I've added pending changes protection to the article for one year. If this doesn't slow down the amount of unverified content being added to the article and if the problem still continues and at a high editing rate, let me know and I'll be happy to take another look. Keep me posted and let me know how this does. Cheers ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:30, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You were wrong.

This edit is in no way a violation of the edit restriction. The restriction is about linking to external behavior of other editors. A blog website is not an "editor", and the blog in question does not mention any off-wiki behavior by an editor. It cites a couple of forum comments, but they were not written by Wikipedians! If you imply they were, you're the one violating the WP:OUTING policy. I'm writing this because he was indeffed for an actual violation of the edit restriction. If you agree that you were wrong, the block can be perhaps reduced to time served (as the first actual violation of the editing restriction). wumbolo ^^^ 19:37, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wumbolo, and thank you for leaving a message here with your concerns and input. Without going into much detail, it was pointed out and agreed by someone in ArbCom that this was a violation of the user's editing restrictions. I can't state much more than that, since most the conversation took place with an expectation of confidence. If you believe that the user's action did not violate the editing restriction set by ArbCom, and if you believe that the sanctions applied in response to the behavior observed were improper, you're welcome to discuss this with ArbCom directly by contacting the committee. That's completely within your right and your prerogative to do and I absolutely won't hold it against you should you decide to do so. Either way or either result that comes from doing so won't bother me, and I'll be happy to do what's right (that, overall, is what's important... I want to do the right thing). I won't, however, be the correct person to contact in regards to this user's indefinite block as someone else has performed this action, and I took no part in the discussion or decision to do so (that I remember at least). I appreciate you for taking the time to leave me this message and express your thoughts and opinion; my user talk page is open to all - even those who disagree with me. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions or concerns, and I'll be happy to discuss them with you. Thank you for expressing your honest thoughts and doing so in a civil manner. Best regards - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:42, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

deletion of user talk page

Hi User talk:Mascha2013 was deleted few days ago. I though I left a welcome message in her page (she is also a friend of mine) but I don't remember. BTW i think I will put a welcome message there but since you deleted it, I am informing you.--Alexmar983 (talk) 15:31, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Alexmar983! Please accept my apologies! I just realized that I missed your message here and accidentally skipped over it without responding. I'm so sorry! The deletion on Mascha2013's user talk page had nothing to do with you, and it didn't delete anything you added there. An LTA user was going around and mass-messaging random users to be... disruptive. My deletion on this page simply removed the disruption that was added. Please let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be happy to answer them. I apologize again for missing your message here. That was extremely unacceptable on my part; please forgive me. Is this allowed on Wikipedia???

Just wondering but, User:TheUltamateBoss3900 has "Hello this is my new Wikipedia account please do not go to my other account User:TheBigBoss3900 because I have officially retired from that exact account again I am terribly sorry." on his main user page. Just wondering if this counts as a Sock puppet seeing as BigBoss's last edit was 9 August 2018 and UltamateBoss first edit was 21 August 2018. I also found it odd as BigBoss has several warnings on their talk before "Retiring" and creating a new name. 2601:805:8205:7E0A:3C91:80FD:98F1:EF02 (talk) 05:41, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Investigating... Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 21:01, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I took a look at the user's accounts, and it seemed like none of them were blocked. But I tagged one the new userpage as a U5. Seems Strange.... But they are not blocked on both accounts. I leave this for Oshwah or another admin/user to take a look. Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 21:05, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there! Sorry for the delay responding to your question here. I personally would not consider this situation an abuse of multiple accounts, as the user clearly associates his/her latest user account with the older account he/she used to edit Wikipedia under. There may be a perfectly legitimate reason that the user decided to "retire" under the old account and begin using another one (i.e. to stop harassment, under a clean start, etc). So long as the user only uses their latest account (which appears to be TheUltamateBoss3900) and never uses the accounts in order to avoid scrutiny, evade blocks, or in a manner that attempts to imply or state that they're participating as two different people - then it's fine. I don't see a block log present on either user account, but if one account did become blocked (as an example) - depending on the reason and circumstances behind the block, it would be up to the blocking admin if they feel that its necessary that both accounts become blocked. I personally will usually extend indefinite blocks placed upon a user to all of the user's alternate accounts as well (depending on circumstance, of course). Please let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be happy to answer them. Thanks for the message and I wish you happy editing. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 22:40, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Editing of Lee Rowley page

Hi again Oshwah,

Have hit another issue with a page. You kindly helped with the Robert Buckland page last month and that is fine after another editor blocked the guy when he registered a new account and attempted to delete material again.

Having updated over 100 MPs pages, of different political parties, I have only had issues with two of them (Robert Buckland and Lee Rowley). I had moved onto editing MPs from another political party this week, but had a quick check over old edits. It turns out that since I last edited the 'Lee Rowley' page earlier in the year a number of unregistered user(s) have been deleting all the stuff I put in for balance. In one case, an entire section relating to a case reported by the BBC had been deleted. None of the edits ever come with an explanation on the talk page. Despite my best efforts to get them to debate content on the talk page, they refuse to. The style and approach suggests they may just be one person (possibly the subject of the page itself) and as they are unregistered users, they don't edit anything else and are difficult to 'talk with'. The most recent unregistered user has seemingly only made 1 other edit, which was last month and involved vandalising another page (for which the user 'tucoxn' sent them a warning). On the Lee Rowley page, they keep just deleting everything - twice now in 24 hours. They claim they are acting in line with the edits of 'others', which in real terms is unregistered user(s) from 4 different IP addresses, which may just be the same person (them!) Given that they are unregistered and are potentially using multiple computers, I guess they can't be blocked, but is there something else that can be done to the page?

Incidentally some of my editing has been flawed, but I have responded to advice from other wiki editors and changed the way I do things as a result. As such, i'm more than happy for other experienced editors to jump in and critique what I have written on this page (and any others).

Thanks, Impsfan (talk) 20:35, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps if Impsfan didn’t delete from talk pages and the users own talk page attempts by other editors to discuss contributions Impsfan would be able to reach consensus. Instead you ignore debate. Your edits are delete anything positive about an MP and add spurious material often with minimal connection to the actual subject. You breach NPOV guidance frequently. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.132.186.144 (talk) 22:41, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I just looked through Impsfan's contributions and I don't see any edits where Impsfan removed any content from a talk page at all (except for his own user talk page). User's are allowed to remove warnings and messages from their own user talk page (see this guideline section), but the removal also implies that they've read and acknowledged those messages. It looks like the accusation of "ignoring discussions" and "adding or removing content that shouldn't be" go back-and-fourth. If you're going to accuse another editor of breaching Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy (as you said above), you must also provide evidence alongside those accusations (such as diff links) to back them up. It's a violation of Wikipedia's civility policy to accuse another editor of repeatedly violating Wikipedia policy (an accusation that's very serious) without any proof or evidence. Regardless, it looks like this article has been the subject of recent content disputes and edit wars, so I've added extended confirmed protection to it in order to direct all users involved in the dispute to take the discussion to the article's talk page here. That's the fair and right thing to do that will ultimately resolve the issues and concerns being expressed here. Please continue (or... start) your discussions there, respond and provide input in a civil and peaceful manner, and please don't update or modify the article any further until the discussion comes to a consensus. I wish everyone well, and I hope that the discussion comes to a peaceful and successful closure. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:12, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Oshwah. The problem is that the other unregistered user(s) refuse to debate points on the talk page. I started the process on the talk page earlier in the year and they just ignored it and carried on vandalising the main page. I'll try and start again on the talk page and we will see if they engage this time. Unfortunately you put the protection on the main page just after they had vandalised it again i.e. they deleted all the fully sourced links provided (again). I'll request it is reverted back in due course and the protection is then left on semi-permanently to prevent further vandalism. Thanks for taking the time to look into this. Best regards, Impsfan (talk) 20:13, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hashemites

Hello Oshwah I changed Hashemites to Hashmi because that is the correct word to describe the members of the tribe as it is general knowledge in that part of the world. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiman1x (talkcontribs) 04:10, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wikiman1x, and thanks for leaving me a message here with your explanation of the edit you made to Hashemites. The reason I reverted the change was because the word that you modified differed away from being the same as the article's title, and I grew concerned. I would advise leaving a note on the article's talk page here explaining your edit and why you changed it (as you did here) so that other editors can provide input - especially when I see that you've made a few edits to this article and other editors have also reverted them. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be happy to answer them. Thanks again for taking the time to message me here and explain your edit. Hi Mohit1212, and thank you for leaving me a message here. There are a few things that you need to work out before creating an article or adding any content about this team, else you'll wind up spending hours if not a full day of time writing content here just for all of it to be removed or deleted and your time completely wasted. Is this sports team notable? I also note that your account is very new. Because of how new you are to Wikipedia, I highly recommend that you go through and complete Wikipedia's new user tutorial and before you do anything else here. It will provide you with many helpful walkthroughs, guides, interactive lessons, and other information that will be helpful to you (including article creation and content expansion). Most users who take this advice tell me later that it was significantly helpful to them, and led to them being saved hours (or in your case, days) of time and frustration. This is obviously your choice, but I would not skip going through this tutorial. It's for your benefit, and it will help you. I think it is Shah Khwaja (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) who you indeffed for socking. I think he likes us reverting him so he can replace it. It puts him up a rung? Thanks again. I'll send you more hail. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 10:52, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim1138! You appear correct - the edits between the indeff'd account and the IP user are nearly identical. I've blocked the IP user for block evasion. Let me know if you see any more and I'll be happy to take care of it ;-). Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:54, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
36 v. Materialscientist's 168... As Arny said: ! Any other ideas about this? Taking the articles off my watchlist might be the best solution. Thanks and cheers Jim1138 (talk) 11:20, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Jim1138 - LOL..... ohhhh, Arnie.... ;-). That's up to you; if the articles are flooding your watchlist and causing annoyance, definitely remove them for a bit. I'd have to look into how often this is going on before I could determine if protection is appropriate here, but if this is an ongoing thing that happens at a higher than an occasional rate, then that would be a potentially good option. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 11:23, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Jim1138 - Yup, protection it is... lol. I've added semi-protection to the three articles you listed here and for three months. Are there other articles I should look at, too? Let me know. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 11:26, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's the three the anon's been "correcting". I wish he would talk, maybe he is correct... I don't know if the anon knows he can access via another IP or not. Thanks again. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 12:09, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Jim1138 - No problem :-). You could try reaching out, but I give it a low probability that the user will see it. Worth a try though, maybe... but I'll leave that up to you. Cheers ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:13, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Message re. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (HG) (3.3.3)

In reply to this message, of February 2018: Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

I cannot recall the exact text that I added to that entry, but I my source was personal: my best friend, somebody that I have known for 38 years, was Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's high school science teacher at CRLS. She told me what he was like as a student in her class. So what you deleted, will remain deleted, which is very sad. I wonder why you did not ask me first, before deleting it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.231.177.34 (talk) 11:40, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, and thanks for leaving me a message here with your explanation and your questions. Unfortunately, we cannot accept content where a reliable source is needed or the content is challenged or based on information where a source is expected, and none is provided or doesn't meet the criteria for being considered reliable. The source that you explained here is not acceptable, as this constitutes original research. Things such as "I saw it", or "I live here", or "I personally know the person" - do not qualify as reliable sources within Wikipedia articles. In a brief explanation: You cannot cite yourself or your friends as a reference like this. Would you consider content that's written based off the personal recollection or experience of a complete stranger as reliable if you were reading an article, document, or information? Of course not. How silly, right? How would other people go about verifying the information you added to the article if the only "source" is someone's recollection or experience and nothing else? What if, 100 years later, someone reads this article? How would they know that the information is valid and true? They of course wouldn't be able to know for sure... These questions are hypothetical, but will hopefully help explain the reasoning behind the existence of this policy. All content on Wikipedia must be either attributable or directly attributed (cited) by a reliable source. This is why your edit was removed. Please let me know if you have any questions about Wikipedia's policy on no original research being allowed or how to identify a reliable source, and I'll be happy to answer them. Thanks again for the message, I hope that my response has helped you to understand, and I wish you happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:08, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

North Africa page

Hello Oshawa. How are you?, It has been long time no talk, I hope you are doing well. There is a suspected sock who was disruptively editing the page of North Africa, he was refusing to engage on the talk page and after many warnings, he finally did and once I refuted his claims, he refused to continue the discussion on the talk page and came to attack me personally and threaten me on my page which is also an additional evidence of his sock puppetry as Middayexpress/Soupfrone had the same exact habit!!!! Look at the discussion here on the talk page!!! [1].

He again reverted my edits and disruptively edited the page ( and attacked me in his edit summary ) after refusing to engage on the talk page and then requested protecting the page and his request was accepted without reverting his disruptive edits, I have also requested page protection when this suspected sock disruptively edited page. However, the admins declined my request for this reason!! [2]. I would be grateful if you revert his disruptive edits (which wasn't supported by consensus) while keeping the page protected.

Moreover, I am VERY VERY sure that this guy is the banned user Middayexpress, I have been battling this banned user for quite a long time and I know him VERY VERY well, this guy has been vandalizing Wikipedia for many years as well as he is the most persistent sock puppeteer in Wikipedia, he should hold a Guinness record in sock puppeting!!. The only thing which I did and was unprofessional while fighting this suspected sock this time might be dealing with him in a harsh way, but I am a human, not a robot and any human with blood running through his veins and a bit of scientific honesty will get angry If he watches vandals and unchallenged sock puppeteers destroying one of main the sources of knowledge in our world. Unfortunately the persistence appearance of people really like Middayexpress/Soupfrone on Wikipedia very much discourages the good users from editing and are why Wikipedia occasionally gets a bad name.

I have already filed a sock puppetry report against this suspected sock here [3], I would be grateful if help me in taking an action against this user, you can check my report and evaluate the behavioral evidence and leave your thoughts which will be highly appreciated. Thank you. Ryanoo (talk) 13:08, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Ryanoo! Thanks for the message and your request for help here. Whew, that's a lot of information... but from what I'm seeing based off your SPI report, you suspect that Itaren is a sock user of Middayexpress. Are there any other accounts or users involved in this dispute on North Africa or it's talk page? Or is it just this Itaren account? On the SPI report you filed: did you make sure to add as much detail as possible and include as many diffs between the accounts comparing their similar habits as you could find? You also included the diffs where the user used similar uncivil comments toward you, correct? I can definitely take a look at the SPI and the evidence you provided there. If there's diffs you listed here but not in the SPI, add them to your evidence explanation in the SPI. Information that's here but not there won't be helpful, obviously ;-). Make sure all of that is provided so that an admin or clerk can easily go through and look at the evidence and we'll make sure that your report is looked into as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns while this SPI is awaiting review, action (if applicable), and close - and I'll be happy to answer them and help you. Thanks again for the message; I assure you that myself (or another admin if they beat me to it) will begin looking into your case as soon as we can :-). Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 13:41, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Oshwah! Can you please delete these two pages? I afraid users may see the G7 template when editing my user talk page. Thank you. Abelmoschus Esculentus 13:44, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Most users who take this advice tell me later that it was significantly helpful to them, and led to them being saved hours of time and frustration. This is obviously your choice, but I would not skip going through this tutorial. It's for your benefit, and it will help you. I fixed things, And ways to contact me if you need an editor or something.

I edited and removed some things, but if you would like to undo the edits on your Flag of Chile page, You can. I also apologise for my 'vandalism', I was just trying to be funny but your bot resolved it. I'm also going to try to be as helpful as possible, so if you need anything edited but you don't have any time, i'm much obliged to do it for you unless you deem it unneccessary. Thanks in advance. Also, if you attempt to reach me but fail, my Steam Account name is 'fat' And my profile picture is a fat man with Joker Face Paint. if you cannot reach me on both this platform and Steam, I won't be abe to respond at the time because i spend mostly all of my time playing games or marketing on steam, so steam is your best bet. another way to reach me i will send via SteamChat, My discord name and number. I won't post it here because of all the people that can see this message publicly and can S P A M me with friend requests, voice calls, and everything in between. the steam thing is easy to deal with as i can block randoms, but to know i don't block you on accident, reply listing a steam user *If you have one* so i know who's you. I don't spam on steam and i'll very rarely try to message you when you don't want me to, and i'm going to update my status with a Service, Respect, And Trust Pledge on Thursday, November 8. 184.63.86.15 (talk) 16:36, 6 November 2018 (UTC)A Helping Hand, Across All Platforms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.63.86.15 (talk) 16:18, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Thanks for leaving me a message here! So long as your edits are constructive and are making good faith attempts to improve the project, they're welcome to stay. No Wikipedia article or page belongs to me; they're not "mine". In fact, per Wikipedia's policy on ownership - nobody "owns" any articles, pages, or content here (unless the content is copyrighted, then in that case it violates policy being added here must be removed). You're free to be bold and fix and improve anything you see that needs to be improved.
That being said, please know that malicious or intentional disruptive editing such as vandalism, adding hoaxes or false/incorrect information is not allowed and will result in being blocked if it continues. We're an open community that encourages everyone to jump in and help us expand and grow the encyclopedia, but please do so constructively :-). It's common for new users to "test the waters" and maybe add one or two stupid edits (heck, even I did it when I was very very new here). But just know that it doesn't help us, and we need users and people who can contribute here and are willing to help us.
All that aside: If you're interested in being part of the community and working with us to help grow and expand the project, you should consider creating an account and use it when you edit or contribute here. There are many benefits to using an account that you'll like, and you'll be able to use it to go through our new user tutorial, learn more about our policies and guidelines, and help us to build the project or enforce them. If you have any questions or need help with anything, let me know or feel free to ask at the Wikipedia Helpdesk. Myself or another editor will be more than happy to help you. Thanks again for the message and the honesty regarding some of your edits. I hope you have a great rest of your day, and I wish you happy editing. Best regards - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:03, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I made an account under a name that sounds like the Mysterious Stranger's Dollar Store name

Hey Oshwah, Just messaging to say that I made an account, and I'm the same person that was talking about my steam and wanting to edit for ye. I honestly am doing it for the niceness, but it seems that a bot is leaping to the vandals before I can reload the page! If you need any Help at all, even if it's correcting vandal work or fixing page errors, i can do it. :)| Another thing, if you know anybody that can Port and run a script from a document and make it function, please tell me, i'm hard at work rooting out a myth on ROBLOX that got involved with Albert AKA Flamingo: RUST_010. I got his cloning script from one of his myth games, but some of the files i couldn't decrypt, and the following files are locked tight in the script: "LocalStorage", "SavedPlayers", and "LocalPlayers". Leaving you with that and a kind Thank You for understanding my goofy edits not realizing it was vandalism because i have no idea how to give you a barnstar, Until I Repost a message here again, A Helping Hand, Across All Platforms. Hi A Helping Hand, Across All Platforms.! Cool! I'm glad you decided to create a user account! The question you should be asking isn't what I think you should be doing, but instead what you would like to do on Wikipedia? If patrolling recent changes, reverting vandalism, and warning users is what you'd like to do, awesome! If it isn't and you'd rather be doing something else (or if you see yourself enjoying something else), then don't feel like you have to contribute or participate in areas that you don't want to. You're volunteering your time - you should be having fun while doing so and enjoying it. Else, what's the point? Just let me know what you'd like to do here, what interests you regarding Wikipedia and where you'd like to be, what your favorite subjects or topic areas are, and I can definitely point you to a place where you'd fit right in. If you haven't already done so, go through and complete Wikipeda's new user tutorial! It'll help you to learn the basics, show you how to navigate around the website, find important places, teach you important principles and rules, and get you off your feet so that you can walk around the site and be somewhat acquainted. I'm here to help; just let me know how I can do so or what questions you have, and I'll be happy to guide you. Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you find the place you want to be on here, and that you become a long-term member of our community. We need more good users and editors! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:44, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad to see that you're seeing the happy and lighter side of things on Wikipedia (lol). We're not strict, ruthless, or mean people here. We're normal volunteers and editors just like you. So relax, enjoy your stay, and let me know if I can answer any questions or help you with anything. Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:46, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If the image does not belong to the correct user, then by all means - please feel free to remove it. Please add a talk page discussion and explain the removal there so that other editors can provide input, agree, and locate a replacement image. Thanks again for the message and explanation. Hi Abelmoschus Esculentus! So far, it's doing a great job of dragging the attacks down by their feet. Unfortunately, there's no silver bullet right now to resolving this completely where the abuse is 100% stopped and all other anonymous users are able to edit those ref desk pages as usual. For now, we just have to keep eyes out and remove the abuse when they pop up. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:43, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Concerns on FFD/CSD and image handling ( in followup to the IRC chat earlier)....

(Summarised from the IRC chat)...

Given the disputes I had recently with Iridescent and Ritche333 and the feedback I got there (the feedback I got re my conduct is at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Iridescent#Splitting_off) I was wanting a second view as tothe closure (and subsequent CSD) of an FFD i'd started and then withdrawn.

One of the concerns, in the feedback I got (at the page noted above) was essentialy "Why aren't you doing basic fixes, searches before you CSD/FFD?", and based on that I felt it might be reasonable that FFD closers, who generally have considerable experience, might be reasonably considered to be applying some fixes/ when closing an FFD (even if the nominal decision reached was to Delete) in order to protect against an incomplete disscussion.

I was thus a little perplexed by what happened with Wikipedia:Files_for_discussion/2018_October_30#File:DD442.jpg the closer accepted my withdraw, (as following some other information, I figured out the title was registry identifier, and was thus able to add the context I hadn't had previously.), However the closer then nominated the file for F4, despite the fact that it had a source (albiet a very generic one) which had been added in good faith. If there was genuine concern the source added was to generic, wouldn't the appropriate place to have raised this been in the FFD, opposing the 'withdrawl' made? The file had a USGov style PD license tag on lot, and thus based on the available information, in context it was most likely a US Gov photo (although not necessarily definitively).

In another example , way back I'd added an (on review incomplete) information block to File:Mark_Parkinson_(Missouri_politician).jpg and on the information had put "Official Photo" as the source. This was also recently nominated for F4, which I considered inappropriate.

A third concern, occured with File:Richmond_Train_Station_2018.jpg. The upload concerned had been mis-charcterised as being by someone other than uploader. As I'd encountered the contributors uploads elsewhere, I felt it in context considering it as a possible F11, might have been hasty, and let the user that had tagged it, know it was most likely own work by the uploader.

A fourth concern, File:CytherapublishedJudgement.pdf, Wikipedia:Files_for_discussion/2018_October_30#File:CytherapublishedJudgement.pdf, was deleted, apparently solely on the basis of my rationale, without any other responses being present. The issue was that it was tagged PD-USGov, which was incorrect as the media concerned was an account of a ruling in an Australian court. Had there been a more measured response, it may have been possible to consider if it had in fact been Crown Copyright, and thus the date needed to be considered (as it may have expired 50 years ago rather than more recently, or if it was an official work that could be re-licensed, given that the Australian govt had in recent years been publishing considerably more material under Wikimedia compatible licenses.) My recollection was also that the file itself had some kid of license response at the back of it. If someone was willing to reconsider this, it's the sort of file on which a request for undeletion may be appropriate.

I may be over-reacting (and in asking about these concerns, I appreciate given my own "reckless" approaches in the past, I'm not in the best position), but a second look at how these and some other FFD/CSD handling issues have been dealt with by some contributors would be desirable. The seeming bias towards deletion at FFD (amongst some closers) is also a more generalised concern.

Apologies for a long post, but I wanted to be sure I'd said what I wanted. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 09:17, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ShakespeareFan00! Sure - basically, everything mentioned on IRC has been brought here and with no details missing (just stating this for the record). I asked you to bring this here and as a discussion on-wiki, and you have done so :-). I'm going to ping Majora as somebody I know who is much better in this area of Wikipedia than I am. Hi, thanks for your message but I don't understand why you think it is better to keep incorrect information on this page. Hi there! Thanks for leaving me a message here with your concerns. The edit you made here doesn't belong on the article itself. If you have concerns like this, you need to add this as a discussion to the article's talk page. This is where you can express concerns and start discussions, and other editors can contribute and add input and resolve the matter. Please let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be happy to answer them. Thanks again for the message, and I wish you a great day. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:40, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am Catie Munnings and am trying to edit my wikipedia page. I desperately need the page to display 'rally driver' immediately on google.
