Anthony Russell Seratelli (born February 27, 1983) is an American professional baseball player. A second baseman, Seratelli plays in Minor League Baseball for the New York Mets organization.

Biography

Seratelli was born in Woodbridge, New Jersey.[1] He attended Old Bridge High School in Matawan, New Jersey. At 4 feet 11 inches (1.50 m), Seratelli was too small to play American football or basketball. He joined the baseball and bowling teams.[2] He played shortstop for the baseball team.[1] He threw perfect games for the bowling team as a freshman and as a junior.[2]

Seratelli then enrolled at Seton Hall University. Now 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m), he tried out for the Seton Hall Pirates baseball team as a walk-on during his freshman year.[1] He was undrafted out of Seton Hall, and began his professional career in independent baseball in 2006.[3] In February 2007, he attended a tryout with the Kansas City Royals, who signed him to a minor league contract.[4]

After the 2013 season, Seratelli became a free agent. He signed a minor league contract with the Mets, receiving an invitation to spring training in 2014.[5]
