Ludogorets (Bulgarian: Лудогорец) is a Bulgarian association football club based in the town of Razgrad, Bulgaria, which currently competes in the East B PFG, the second division of Bulgarian football. The club's home ground is the local Municipal Stadium in Razgrad, which has a overall capacity of 5,000 seats.

The club is the historical successor of the original and traditional club records of the former Ludogorets Razgrad, which was founded in 1945 and dissolved in 2006.

History

Ludogorets was created on 18 June 2001 as Ludogorie Football Club and renamed to Razgrad 2000 in 2002 as a result of the merger with the club of the same name.

In the 2005-06 season, Razgrad 2000 finished 1st in fourth division of the Bulgarian football and won a promotion to V AFG, the third level of the Bulgarian league system.

In the 2009-10 season the club finished 2nd in the V AFG and won a promotion to the professional football. In October 2010 the businessman Kiril Domuschiev acquired the club, with the clear intention to bring Ludogorets to A PFG. Ludogorets's owner decided to bring players with a lot of experience in the Bulgarian football, his first signing being ex-Slavia Sofia's Todor Kolev. Zoran Zlatkovski, Mihail Aleksandrov and Nikolay Dyulgerov were just a few players who soon followed.
