Rollback

User:CSMention269

After @Fastily:'s advice, I am active at RC patrol for one month, also I am reviewing edits of those vandal users or IPs contributions, to check whether edit is constructive or not. CSMention269 (talk) 06:32, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Fastily, any final consent whether you approve it or not? CSMention269 (talk) 15:47, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see that you are failing to consistently warn editors when you revert their edits (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Why? Are you aware that we have tools such as Twinkle or Ultraviolet that make this extremely easy? -Fastily 08:03, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Fastily, it is not that I always failed to warn them as TW and RedWarn are those tools I used to warn the users everytime. I sometimes gets missed out warning on few editors (especially those undos happened in March 2024) as I have to get heavily involved in AFC and my personal life (my cross-service exams are going on during this month; nevermind). If you still feel that it is OK for me to ask again after one month, I have no issues. CSMention269 (talk) 12:31, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please ensure that you are always leaving warnings. I can't stress enough the importance of not biting the newcomers; if you find yourself reverting good faith edits, then it's especially important to notify the editor. If you don't want to leave a template warning, that's completely fine, but you do need to leave a talk page message explaining why you reverted the edit. Moving forward, could you please make a promise to leave warnings/notifications for every revert? -Fastily 03:34, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I assure you @Fastily, if there are even some good faith edits which I reverted, not only I will explain it in the summary (which I do actually) but also to the editor. ☮️CSM269🕉️(🗨️✉️📔) 06:17, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Great thanks for confirming,  Done -Fastily 00:02, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have used Twinkle to revert vandalism mostly from the recent changes page for a while now and warn/report users. Twinkle is not sufficient for me on "longer" articles because of my slow internet connection. Reverts I make with Twinkle often take up to ten seconds, which slows me down. Rollback permissions would be greatly appreciated to make edits faster and save time. I can be trusted with rollback permissions as I have been actively reverting vandalism since July 2023, consistantly warning editors with the templates that Twinkle offers with little breaks. I have a satisfactory understanding of what is and what is not vandalism. Additonally, pages on my watchlist get vandalized a lot too, so I could always help revert edits as I have a sharp eye on it. Thank you, ItsCheck (talk) 03:40, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious why you reverted this edit (and also failed to notify the IP user), do you think it is vandalism? Furthermore, I'm concerned by this incident involving @Guhhh; would you care to comment on that? -Fastily 09:09, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I followed the advice of @Fastily & have been patrolling recent changes daily for the past month, my sightings & dealing of vandalism have increased by great numbers. Having rollback rights would be beneficial in dealing with accounts that have vandalized numerous times. Thank you. Elvisisalive95 (talk) 00:36, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was suggested to me on my talk page that I might consider applying for Rollback permissions to speed up RedWarn which I've been using, and be able to use Huggle, and I'd like to try it (and possibly AntiVandal out. Shaws username . talk . 04:03, 12 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done, however please ensure that you are always warning editors when you revert their edits. -Fastily 00:02, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

“I believe my experience in handling vandalism qualifies for rollback permissions. This request is a follow-up to my previous request, which was not approved because I made a request too soon after the previous one was rejected. Fastily had informed me that a decision would not be made until March 13. It is now March 14, so I hopefully the rollback permissions will be granted this time. As you can see, all of the criteria is met (you can check it for yourself).

  • At least 200 mainspace edits.
  • At least a month of experience patrolling Special:RecentChanges. (more than 1 month)
  • No recent history of edit warring.
  • A track record of consistently notifying editors when reverting their edits.
  • The counter-vandalism training program is available if you wish to gain experience in handling vandalism. - I am currently finding a trainer to further expand my knowledge and expertise in counter-vandalism. Alon Alush (talk) 17:05, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
