Guidelines include account age at least 90 days old, at least 500 edits to mainspace, demonstrated knowledge of page quality control (usually shown through participation in processes such as WP:AFD, WP:CSD, WP:AFC reviewing, etc.), no blocks or 3RR violations in the past 6 months, and no indications of undisclosed paid editing. Applicants should show some evidence that they generally meet the guidelines, have a demonstrated need for the right, and that they have read and fully understood the tutorial at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Editors may want to consider WP:NPPSCHOOL before applying.

@Pangalau: I don't intend to process this request, but I do have a question/concern I guess. May I ask why your signature does not match your username? As reviewers, we often communicate with other editors, and I think it can be a bit confusing to the many new editors that we do have to deal with. It's just a name often used by my other accounts off Wikipedia and used to link to my other projects such as Flickr, also allowing my keep animosity. I will note that I do recognize that my record has not been spotless, and I have made a few misjudgements (The_sound_of_children_screaming_has_been_removed and MetaZoo come to mind). I realize there's a huge backlog in new pages awaiting review. While I haven't exactly created that many pages, nor have a I been particularly present at AfD, I have spent a good portion of time at RfD and I think I could help a great deal in reducing that backlog at the very least. I do also have a pretty good knowledge of WP:COPYVIO policies, spam, and all kinds of disruptive editing that could help reduce the remaining backlog. This request is sequel to my chat with Hey man im josh. I know I don't meet one strict criteria of having a 90-day old account, but I have a good track record, I have participated in AfDs, created a few (about 60) neat articles (with one as GA which appeared as a DYK two days ago), anyway, that is not the point. I want to help work on the upcoming AfC drive and would really love to. I am also competent and conversant with several policies and guidelines, I have also occasionally closed requests listed at the closure requests page.
