Marina Machete Reis (born 1995) is a Portuguese model and beauty pageant titleholder who is currently crowned as Miss Universe Portugal 2023.[1][2] [3]Machete is the first Portuguese transgender woman to participate in the Miss Universe contest. She will compete at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant[3] in El Salvador. She is the second transwoman to compete in Miss Universe in 2023 after Rikkie Valerie Kolle of Netherlands. She also won the Most Confident award at the competition.
In 2018, Machete started working as a flight attendant. She is fluent in Portuguese and English.
Miss Portugal 2023
On Thursday 2023, Machete was awarded the Miss Portugal title in Borba, in the southeastern Evora region, Portugal.
