HTS tentiQ is a German company who design and manufacture temporary structures. The main office is located in Kefenrod, Germany.

History

Heinz Röder

The history of the company dates back to 1959 when Heinz Röder founded the family company Röder AG along with his father and brother. The company specialised in the rental of wooden framed tents. In 1976, Heinz Röder became the CEO of Röder AG and in 1992 the decision was made to introduce the company to the stock exchange. In 1994 a five-year non-compete agreement between Heinz Röder and the new owners was signed and the business was handed over to Klockner & Co AG. Heinz then left the rental market to focus on a new company focusing on the manufacture and sales of structures for rental companies.[3]

In 2001 Heinz Röder founded a new company called RÖDER HTS High Tech Structures KG, specialising in the design and manufacture of temporary structures and in 2004 acquired industry competitor HÖCKER GmbH, based in Bad Salzuflen (Germany). In 2005 RÖDER HTS KG and HÖCKER GmbH officially merged into one trading entity to be known as RÖDER HTS HÖCKER.

In 2002-2003 the strategic sales offices opened in the UK, France and the Middle East and grew further in 2006 with an office opening in Russia and in India in 2007.[3]

In 2014 an affiliated company HTS Industriebau was established specialising in the design and manufacture of quickly erectable steel framed structures.[3][4]

In early 2019, the company was acquired by Findos Investor GmbH and Bitburger Brauerei SME.[5] In late 2019, Röder HTS Höcker was renamed to HTS tentiQ.[6][7] Founder and long-time managing director Heinz Röder retired, with Dr Heribert Decher taking over the position.[8][9]

Activity

In 2009, the company designed the 3-story temporary Pit Lane Pavilion building for the CLIPSAL 500 event held in South Australia. The structure had the following features: the ground level consisted of 36 Pit Lane garages, the ground floor accommodated various operational and medical offices, and the first and second floors incorporated numerous different sized hospitality suits, TV and radio broadcasting suites, race control, media centre and others.[10][11]

Later in 2009 the company launched HTS Industrial (now: HTS tentiQ Industrial Buildings), a specialist division providing the hire and sale of industrial temporary buildings and warehouses direct to end user customers. The division now has sales and distribution warehouses in Europe, Australia and the United States.[3][12]

In 2010 a new carbon/alloy hybrid frame structure system ‘Carbon-Hybrid’ was officially launched and patented, significantly reducing the volume and weight of structures with the help of carbon inserts. In the same year HTS Avantgarde external glass and solid walling system was patented.[13][14]

In 2012 an order with the Russian Federation Defence Ministry established a new Military division specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of turnkey field camps and individual military tents and shelters.[3][15][16]

In 2013 the company won a tender costing 27.6 million US dollars for the construction of a new international airport terminal building in Nairobi (Kenya),[17][18] after a fire destroyed the original building.[19] The new terminal enabled the airport to increase the airport's capacity to 7.5 million people per year.[20]

In 2015 the company carried out a project on the construction of several refugee camps in Germany, and in 2016 during the Tent Expo’16 exhibition a contract was made with Italy for the refugee field camp solutions.[21]

In July 2016, the company acquired a project for a structure that would be used at Chornomorets Stadium in Odessa for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.[22] However, on 9 September it was announced that the Eurovision Song Contest would be held in Kiev in the International Exhibition Centre.[23]

The company also designed, manufactured and installed the exhibition buildings for Sokolniki Park. In 2008 a semi-permanent two-storey structure was built with a total area of 3,650 m2.[24]

The company regularly supplies Hospitality structures to accommodate spectators during race events for Audi,[25] Porsche,[26] BMW,[27][28][29] Hankook[30][31] and other car manufacturers.

As reported by HTS tentiQ, the company's turnover in 2012 amounted to 120 million euros.[1]

The company won IFAI and IFEA awards.[32][33]
