Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G5 or G11 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

    Instructions for special cases

This was deleted because the article was largely about the contents of a single Scientific American story by the subject. It seems to me that that called from improving article, rather then deleting it. The article had been created several years ago. —Eb.hoop (talk) 23:33, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Marcquelle Ward

This person is of importance to the acting world. His body of work alone speaks volumes and should be reinstated. A recognised person on IMDB. Verified on Facebook, Twitter, Vine. Pivotal person in the British acting industry —Mcnia (talk) 09:27, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marcquelle Ward, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:33, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I should point out that we don't use wikis or social media as sources, and being on IMDb, Facebook, et al does not grant notability by our standards. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 18:51, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    File:Ever-1.jpg

Picture was deleted because "free equivalent available"? Where? (Original pic was non-commercial use & permission explicitly given to Wikipedia + fair-use rationale; I don't fully understand the deletion log) —2A02:C7D:8EAB:9100:2CA3:366A:270D:EC6D (talk) 22:07, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • Not done "Replaceable" means that someone could take a new photo of the android and release it freely (for commercial use). If you can demonstrate that EveR-1 no longer exists then its use could be justified as it is no longer possible to photograph. Perhaps you could ask Korea Institute of Industrial Technology to provide an image that has a compatible licence - free for commercial use and modification. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:28, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'd be very surprised if EveR-1 still exists, because didn't Hiroshi Ishiguro once say that his actroids' silicone skin shrinks too much after 2 years? and KITECH have moved on to EveR-4. 2A02:C7D:8EAB:9100:302E:6CCE:1404:8081 (talk) 07:44, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • There is some confusion about the wording of the original license from KIST (Internet Archive link). The English text includes the phrase "provided that it is not used for commercial purpose", but this phrase is not there in the Korean text (at least not according to Google Translate). Do we know if the KIST representative sent the email in both languages (Korean and English), or if the English was added by a Wikipedian translator? If we added the English ourselves, why was the phrase "provided that it is not used for commercial purpose" added if it wasn't there in the original Korean? Can we double-check the history of the deleted page to see if that phrase was added at a later time? Do we know which Wikipedia editor pasted the KIST license into Wikipedia, and can we ask them why the phrase "provided that it is not used for commercial purpose" is present in the English version but not in the Korean version? (Edit: it was Ujames12 but they haven't contributed for 9 years so I don't know if they're still reachable.) I think there's a possibility that this was a free image after all but that somehow got lost in translation. (see also Korea Open Government License which seems to have been alluded to in the message) 2A02:C7D:8EAB:9100:302E:6CCE:1404:8081 (talk) 08:26, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • The English and Korean texts were both added by User:Lakshmix within an hour of each other. An email like this should really be sent to OTRS rather than an individual editor so that other people can examine it. (Lakshmix has since been blocked as a sockpuppet so don't bother asking them for anything.) Hut 8.5 18:09, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It was the first time I had written on this title while being aware it's previous deletion records. The matter was with the language, my article was labeled as no different from the previous ones. But I have never seen how previous ones were because they were actually deleted. I wrote the article after having a good read around the other articles of the similar kind. I was ready to improvise but it was speedy deletion so I was left with no choice. The company passes WP:GNG as there are plenty of sources. And I believe just having a bad article written on a notable subject does not disqualify it from having a Wikipedia page. So now I would like to request an undelete to improve it. —Bulle Shah (talk) 16:45, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done I don't think those sources were independent. However since this was speedy deleted with A7, you should ask User talk:DGG about it. Also intewrsting is that user:DangerousPanda rejected a speedy delete nomination a day earlier but it was deleted anyway. If this was about you, I suggest you read WP:Autobiography. Would you please check if the deleted article was about Indian scientist Anant Vishnu Narlikar, member of Indian National Science Academy? If it is about him — I've noticed myself that many of these academicians have nonworking links to the INSA database, however the correct link can be easily found and replaced; e.g. the A.V. Narlikar's profile is http://insaindia.res.in/detail/N93-1128. This is not a copyright violation because I have permission from the owner.

@Jerzmac: Not only do you need permission, you must prove to everyone that you have permission and what that permission is. The simplest way to prove it will be for the owner of the blog unap1947unyap to put up a message or comment on the blog to say that it has the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL license. Another way is via email to the WP:OTRS team to prove that you can release their content under this license. I am requesting this draft article be un-deleted. I hope I am following the correct procedure, apologies if not, I am not computer-savvy and have only created three or four Wikipedia articles, some years ago. (I presume that I will be contacted if the draft is re-instated, or do I just keep looking?) My reason is that I consider the subject of this submission an interesting and prominent practitioner in a very specialised field. My submission, at which I made several re-drafts, was turned down by an editor who responded that the subject was not notable. This seemed final and I left it. Last month I received a message re deletion. Yesterday I read that the subject has been awarded an MBE honour in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Recognition at national level seems an argument against non-notability, and certainly something fresh to include in a new submission. Thus I am requesting un-deletion so that I can try again. Alternatively I have my previous draft as a computer file, so could start the process over, but requesting un-deletion seems the right approach as far as I can discern. Thank you.

    Lisa Olstein

Lisa Olstein is a prominent poet with a forthcoming collection of poetry (her fourth) debuting from Copper Canyon Press in October, 2018. Her oeuvre and influence continue to expand and deserves documentation/representation. She is the current co-director of the New Writers Project at the University of Texas at Austin where she also teaches at the Michener Center for Writers--a program ranked among the top ten MFA programs in the United States. She falls within the poetic lineage of James Tate and C.D. Wright. As found editor of the literary magazine jubilat and a lyricist for the singer Jeffrey Foucault, she wears a variety of artistic hats. Her work far exceeds that of other poets featured on Wikipedia and the rationale to delete this page (see below) seems insufficient given that her body of work continues to grow, inspiring conversations within literary and musical communities across the United States. The reason cited for deleting her page was, "Listed sources are not what convinces actual independent notability and substance and her works are only held in 779 libraries, and the highest only being 277, which may if at all be a significant achievement in..." I was unable to find the rest of the reasoning. If undeleted, I will personally comb through the previous article's sources to ensure scholarly credibility and supplement with additional research as needed. —KatelinKelly (talk) 00:21, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Then I suggest you put it into Draft:Gennaro Napolitano. Social media, official sites and IMDB are insufficient. We need newspapers and magazines etc. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:36, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We have now managed to gather a number of better sources in order to complete the article so it would be wonderful if it could be restored again. —Johan-fridell (talk) 09:37, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • Done – as an Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored upon request. Please edit the page to address any issues raised, and re-submit it; "Articles for creation" is not for the indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The following pages should be undeleted and restored to their former locations in the userspace. They were all moved to the mainspace by a user other than their creator then found to be unsuitable for the mainspace for reasons which would not apply in the userspace. The consensus at WP:UP/RFC2016 (B4) was If a draft is moved to the mainspace by a user other than its author, then found to be unsuitable for the mainspace for reasons which wouldn't apply in the userspace, it should be returned to the userspace. See Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion/Archive 229#Unicity Productions, Play It Strange Trust, and Hack n' Smack Celebrity... for a precedent. Pinging Graeme Bartlett who participated in the related discussion I started at WT:Requests for undeletion. Courtesy ping to the administrators who deleted the pages: David Gerard, Explicit (3), Iridescent, Kudpung, Lankiveil, and Malcolmxl5.

    — Godsy (TALKCONT) 21:55, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Godsy: As regards to David Fagan, I offered in my close to userify it if someone committed to working on it. Are you or the original article creator going to keep working on this one with a view to getting it to the mainspace eventually? Lankiveil (speak to me) 23:06, 21 June 2017 (UTC).[reply]
@Lankiveil: I have no plans to work on it at this time. I cannot speak for the creator, i.e. Ben.zarsky, who has been inactive since mid-2010. I'm here because the community overwhelmingly supported the restoration of pages to the userspace under these circumstances (their rationales can be read here; numerically it was ~23 in support and ~2 in opposition). — Godsy (TALKCONT) 23:28, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I'm going to decline to restore an abandoned draft to user space unless there is some indication somewhere that it will be worked upon; a restoration would be pointless wonkery for the sake of process. No opinion on the other ones. Lankiveil (speak to me) 23:34, 21 June 2017 (UTC).[reply]
@Kudpung: Just to clarify, I'm requesting these be restored to their former locations in the userspace (as that is what the community decided was appropriate), not the draftspace. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 01:11, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Still process wonkery: neither Draft nor user sub pages are web hosts or repositories for abandoned work. You would need to demonstrate that 1) The creators have asked for a refund, 2) demonstrate very clearly that these users are intending to continue developing the articles, and 3.) demonstrate that these articles will stand a good chance of surviving AfD.
I see all that as just making work for yourself, and then unnecessary work for the admins who are gong to have to delete them all over again. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:20, 22 June 2017 (UTC).[reply]
@Kudpung: You deleted Government Higher Secondary School Omallur due it being put up for proposed deletion, while Lankiveil deleted David Fagan (educator) due to an articles for deletion discussion. Very different. Even after it has been deleted, anyone may have a PRODed article or file restored through a request for undeletion, Any page which has been deleted as a result of a proposed deletion will be undeleted upon request (unless there are other reasons for keeping it deleted, such as a copyright infringement), and An administrator may decide on their own to restore a page that has been deleted after a proposed deletion without having to make the request at Requests for undeletion. • Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Devin Mroz, it cannot be undeleted through this process. IMDB is not counted as a reliable source for Wikipedia to show notability. More independent reliable references are needed to show notability. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:24, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Media Rights Capital

Article of a notable company, deleted by User:Spartaz because it was apparently created by a sock of the banned user User:Benjiboi. Personally, I feel that it runs afoul of the criteria that the page must have not "substantial edits by others". A long-standing article should not be deleted only because of its association with one user. —ViperSnake151  Talk  00:58, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
