The Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC) in Tasmania, a state of Australia, is an independent office which conducts parliamentary elections in the state. Elections for the House of Assembly take place every 4 years and for the Legislative Council every year on a rotational basis. The last election for the House of Assembly was the 2014 state election.[1] The next elections will be for the Legislative Council, on Saturday, 6 May 2017 for the divisions of Launceston, Murchison and Rumney. The next State election is expected in March 2018.
