Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 14:35, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Sometime ago there was a proposition to change the outcome of the Greco-Italian war into a Italian victory (which was) but it was immediately blocked by the status quo. Maybe you have more grind to advance this. Ruddah (talk) 07:26, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, they certainly are a cabal, aren't they? Do you know who they are? Are they like, in their mid 70s or 80s, war veterans who think they know all things military? Anyway Ruddah, the truth will come out eventually. You know, people thought for a very long time, that the earth was flat. You know what Abraham Lincoln said: You can't fool all the people ALL the time! AnnalesSchool (talk) 07:37, 10 May 2014

POV pushing

Hello, Please take the time to read WP:NPOV, WP:V and WP:CONSENSUS, and note the centrality of these policies to editing on Wikipedia. I will be asking an uninvolved admin to intervene if you continue to attempt to use Wikipedia as a forum to push your personal https://translate.google.com.mt/?hl=en&tab=wTviews through deliberately inserting bad history in articles. If you consider there is scope for improving the articles you are interested in - and goodness knows there almost certainty is - I'd encourage you to engage in good-faith discussions of your proposed changes on the articles' talk pages first. Nick-D (talk) 11:41, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nick, I am not pushing a POV. They are not my views. I am trying to bring balance and neutrality back to the debate about the Italian war involvement. I am NOT, and I repeat, I am NOT pushing my views. There is scope for a difference of opinion about the Italian war involvement. I am trying to be as fair and reasonable as I can. Sadkovich and a few others, have recently re-examined the way the Italians have been portrayed by authors, and their conclusions (not mine) is that there is a lot of bias and lack of neutrality in how the Italians are portrayed and written about. Is it any wonder that university professors absolutely forbid their students to cite Wikipedia. having looked closely at the so-called "research",and having read many of the Talk pages, I am appalled by the low standard of scholarship. Also, if I were an Italian reading such articles, I would be deeply hurt and offended by many of the erroneous and unkind things said about the Italian role in the war.

Please try to be reasonable. There is scope for Sadkovich and others. Indeed, the Wiki guidelines allow minority views. I am trying to use only peer-reviewed articles. Sadkovich is peer-reviewed with a good reputation in academic circles. He is an acceptable voice to be heard. I am in the process of finding other academic authors who are peer reviewed and reliable, as well as more Italian sources. But this takes time.

I am also appalled by your lack of tolerance. You say your patience is running out. I say, my patience is sorely tested too. I am appalled and disheartened by the low standard of the articles. The Greece-Italian war articles are heavily biased with very non-neutral language and vocabulary that I consider un-academic in tone. These articles are written by partisan authors, some of whom are Greek.

I will continue to carry on and try to return some balance to about two or three dozen articles dealing with the Italian military. I will continue to point out the biases and lack of professional objectivity and neutrality and the absence of an even-handed approach and tone.

I am in contact with the Wiki admin people and I have explained the serious problems with these articles. Please do not make me have to report you to the committee and have you blocked from editing.

I think together, if we join forces, we can actually do some good. But my intention has been made clear from the start. I am committed to reforming these articles so that they do conform to the guidelines Wikipeda have spelled out. It is an uphill battle but I think it is possible to improve the articles in the end.

As I said, it isn't my POV at all, but the POV of Sadkovich and others. They have a voice. They are respected scholars and they should be given a hearing on the pages of Wikipedia.

However, I see my role primarily as encouraging editors like yourself with much more knowledge of WW2 and all things military, to do your job better, which means, to be fair and balanced in writing about the Italian Military and avoid Anglo-American bias and partisanship as much as possible. I can actually help you and other editors in achieving this.

Otherwise, I will have to establish a website of my own, warning readers about the bias and unreliability of Wikipedia, which will have links to many of the articles and editors in question. I really don't want to go down that path, because all will lose in the end. However, if you chose to be cooperative, then we can work together. But if you continue to be confrontational and threatening, then there is no hope.

Change will come to the articles that need improvement, but it doesn't mean you have to fear that change or feel threatened yourself.

Please do not make me have to report you to the committee and have you blocked from editing. On your way reporting NickD to the committee, can you inform the committee that you told another editor: Sounds like you actually admire the Germans a lot more because they were more brutal and efficient. Do you happen to have a masochistic bent? Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 17:45, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
