Abd al Malik, born Régis Fayette-Mikano (Paris, 14 March 1975), is a French rapper and spoken word artist of Congolese origin. He has also authored books in French language.
He took part in the group NAP (New African Poets).[1] He is signed with Universal Music France.
Born in Paris in 1975, Abd al Malik, he and his six brothers and sisters moved to Brazzaville, Congo, from 1977 to 1981, before coming back to Strasbourg, France.
In 2006, he won the Prix Constantin, an annual French music prize awarded to the best album of an artist who has come to prominence during the course of the past decade.

Personal life
In 1999, Régis Fayette-Mikano converted to Islam taking the name Abd al Malik. He is married to French Moroccan singer Wallen, with whom he has a child.
