William Skipwith (c.1564-1610), of Cotes, Leicestershire, was an English politician.

He was the eldest son of Henry Skipwith and was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge.

He was appointed Sheriff of Leicestershire for 1598.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Leicestershire 1601 and Leicester 1604.[1]

He married twice: firstly Margaret, the daughter of Roger Cave of Stanford, Northants, with who he had four sons and four daughters and secondly Jane, the gdaughter of John Roberts and the widow of John Markham of Sidebrook.
