The 588th intended to deploy it's lead elements to South Korea during the fall of 1958, but in a change of plans, the unit was inactivated at on 15 July 1958. The personnel and equipment of the 588th were reassigned to the newly-formed [[58th Tactical Missile Group]] at [[Osan AB]], South Korea, with the newly re-designated 310th Tactical Fighter Squadron becoming the [[310th Tactical Missile Squadron]], absorbing the personnel of the 588th TMG en-masse. |

The 24th Tactical Missile Squadron is an inactive United States Air Force unit. It was last assigned to the 588th Tactical Missile Group, stationed at Orlando Air Force Base, Florida. It was inactivated on 15 July 1958
