In 2007 Kim Walker was accused of plagiarism and investigated by the university, after a talk and lectures she gave were found to contain whole paragraphs that were identical to those of a talk given by a former colleague<ref>[http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/mediator-aims-to-restore-harmony-at-troubled-conservatorium/2009/01/27/1232818435451.html]</ref>. The allegations were investigated by [[Sydney University]] and subsequently dropped. In late 2009 she was accused of having misrepresented her qualifications when the University handbook stated that she had a degree from the Curtis Institute of Philadelphia which was untrue. These allegations were also dropped and the University could find no evidence that the misrepresentation was deliberate on Kim Walker's part <ref>[http://www.smh.com.au/national/dean-of-the-con-cleared-of-deception-20091218-l5pg.html]</ref>.
